Megan Ackerman, PT, DPT, ATC

Hi, I’m Megan. I graduated with my Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Dayton in 2018. I completed a residency in sports physical therapy in 2019-2020, and I am a board-certified clinical specialist in sports physical therapy. I received my specialty in sports physical therapy because I have been around sports my whole life. My love for sports and fitness started at a young age and continues today. I graduated from the University of Mount Union in 2014 with my undergraduate degree in athletic training, where I also played four years of NCAA collegiate basketball. I went on to work as a head athletic trainer for a small high school in Ohio, before continuing with physical therapy. After completing a residency in sports physical therapy, I moved to Wisconsin with my husband, Ken. In our time here, we have had two daughters. I have also branched out into being an adjunct professor in Carroll University's Physical Therapy Department.My philosophy is to try and find …something in common with every patient and relate their treatment to something functional to their lives. My background, not only playing sports as an NCAA college athlete, but rehabbing from four knee surgeries, has allowed me to connect with my patients on many diverse levels. I want every patient to have a wonderful experience, and I take pride in going out of my way to make patients comfortable and informed. I love seeing athletes of all ages, weekend warriors, and patients who just want to stay active, and getting patients back to sports or recreational activities.
