I would like to express my deepest appreciation for Megan Johnson at Kaiser Permanente in Woodland Hills, who has been my sister Marjorie’s psychiatrist for many years and has made a profound difference in both her life and ours. My sister is currently in Stage 7 Dementia and requires carefully managed psychiatric care. Prior to working with Dr. Johnson, we experienced significant challenges with another psychiatrist whose treatment approach did not meet my sister’s needs and, unfortunately, contributed to increased behavioral difficulties related to her dementia medication prescribed. Dr. Johnson took a completely different and far more effective approach. She worked collaboratively with our entire family, including my sister, her son, and myself, treating us as a cohesive unit rather than focusing solely on the patient in isolation. Her compassion, attentiveness, and willingness to truly listen made an immediate and meaningful impact. She is an exceptional diagnostician with a… deep understanding of dementia and Alzheimer’s-related behaviors. As my sister’s condition progressed, Dr. Johnson thoughtfully adjusted medications to align with both my sister’s evolving needs and the realities our family faces. Her guidance helped us better manage complex behavioral challenges and significantly improved my sister’s quality of life. Dr. Johnson has been an integral part of our journey, and we will be forever grateful for her dedication, empathy, and expertise. She consistently goes above and beyond in providing thoughtful, patient-centered care. Kaiser Permanente is fortunate to have a physician of her caliber. Dr. Megan Johnson took over the care of my sister and my nephew's mother in 3/2020, 3 years ago and she has made such a difference in her and our lives. Prior to Dr. Johnson she was the wrong medication which made her worse and after reading Dr. Johnson's reviews I made the change to her. Dr. Johnson is truly a professional psychiatrist who has excellent diagnostic skills. She cares about the welfare of her patients and will go beyond for them and the families that she treats. She is a kind, warm, thoughtful, compassionate, considerate psychiatrist and we are indebted to Dr. Johnson for going the distance whenever we have needed her by phone or sending an email to ask for her assistance. Her staff are always there to assist, and we are grateful to them for their help.
