Dr. Meira Abramowitz, MD

HORRIBLE service or so called “care” Abromowitz recommended for me to get lab work and then once I got to the lab, she had never event sent a prescription for me to get lab work done! This is AFTER calling for six days in a row trying to receive the information and countless virtual notes being sent her way by her team to get back to me. This is also after MONTHS of waiting for her to be available for a single appointment and now she’s rendered that appointment entirely useless by wasting my time, not doing what incredibly simple task was at hand. Now, my insurance will be expiring before I even am able to get any assistance at all, whereas I had originally planned it all in perfect timing to get everything looked at. I am appalled, infuriated, and cannot say enough negative things about my experience with this practitioner. It truly makes me question the legitimacy of her degree if she’s not even capable of writing a script just to get lab work done. DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR.

She was nice, patient , answered questions explained things well. Though I met her only once I ended up scheduling a colonoscopy I am still happy that I used her. She is a good doctor and if you're looking for a woman specifically she definitely is someone I would recommend.

Saw Dr. Abramowitz in a teledoc appointment. She was very through with questions and explanations. She explained her thinking process and what she was testing for and her initial read. She didn’t completely eliminate other possible issues. The whole experience seemed very educational.

First time to see this doctor. Check-in was not great, but okay. The medical unit offered no greeting, nor did the doctor. There was no small talk. Dr. read my medical notes in the portal; asked a few questions and focused on entering the data into her computer. I’m a simple case. Her opinion was likely correct but I will try to get another doctor in the future. There was no time lost on engagement with the client. As she told me we were done, I left and got lost finding the way to the exit.

My experience was 5 stars. She was through, attentive, and comprehensive in understanding my issues. Need a follow up after she reviews test results and I anticipate a continued high level of care and diagnosis.

Had follow up appt. As usual dr abramowitz was excellent. She was on top of my situation and my meds. Like I have said before she is one of the smartest drs I have ever had. She knew what was wrong and she had a plan to address my issues. So far the plan is working. I will continue to work with her and follow her instructions. She has made a great difference in both my health and quality of life. I suffer for 3 years under another ga with no assistance. I am both honored and pleased to have her as my doctor. Even my pcp was impressed by how through she is. If you want someone to hold your hand and look in your eyes comfortingly not ask questions she might not be you choice. But if you want someone to identify and get to the bottom of your long standing issues which may be many, this dr is definitely your person. If you can be patient enough to let her do her job, ask her questions, enter your answers in the computer when she looks up she have you sorted. She will have an idea of… whats wrong the tests to confirm and the plan to treat.

Seconding the prior posting. Not an off day. Seemed consistently annoyed and very not prepared despite my efforts to send info on my disease in advance via her email and portal to staff. Her staff cancelled my first telemed apt about 36 hours out and auto rescheduled me a week later, she couldn’t be bothered to look at the portal even during the apt to get my lengthy meds list and didn’t have a solid understanding of basic pieces of medicine. Also didn’t seem to have the info I submitted on my referring doc in the SAME HOSPITAL SYSTEM, and was annoyed about me saying her name and she could portal message (which both my rheum and other NYP/Cornell docs have told me works well) my doc during the telemed. I’d give her 0 stars if I could. She wasn’t interested in basic symptom management, just wanted the steeper fees for a surgical procedure prior docs deemed unnecessary and wasn’t even willing to talk through a plan if I agreed to scopes without significant prompting from me. She also… repeatedly confused details about medicine I had to explain to her, and didn’t have a clear understanding or recognition of issues like allergic reactions or immune deficiency, which is very much connected to GI health. I see a lot of doctors as a complicated rheum patient but this was one of the most frustrating and incapable of thinking in anything but concrete boxes. If there’s an earlier apt available, you know why. Keep looking, this doc needs to learn people skills and preparedness.

I wish I could think of something kind to say--Maybe she was having a bad day but every question I asked was met with an annoyed "I dunno." She didn't even introduce herself at first, just plopped down in front of the computer like I was a piece of furniture. I could have stayed home and learned more from surfing the net, without the hostility!
