When you walk into a doctors office you expect a level of professionalism. Melissa Chan has none. One she walked me into her office (my first appointment with her) and she has a big dog in her office. She asked me was it ok to have the dog in the office and I told her NO. She didn’t like that response and I could feel a shift in her energy towards me. From that point on the appointment went down hill. As a doctor your job is to listen but I felt that she was listening to respond and not listening to my response. I also know because of the age difference she felt as if I didn’t know anything which is fine but I also at the age of 30 know how to handle that. In the mist of her checking my breast I looked over because her blinds were really high. I asked her what was that building across because you have my breast on display with a few plants to cover here and there. She answered saying that it was a jail. I simply sat up and asked her did she really just examine me with her blinds open… with a jail across and when I ask you and shake it off as if it’s just a candy store. She then asked me to take blood downstairs because she felt that I was being hostile which I know I wasn’t because I still needed her to complete my physical. I can’t lose my cool if I need something from you and I believe that bothered her. She then went into my elation passport to put in notes about my exam. She didn’t list anything regarding my health but instead made it seem as if I was a hostile patient. The only reason why I am writing this review is because this doctor took something from me and then is trying to insult my character. I will write a report on every platform she is has because how she conducted herself during this first meeting was absolutely unacceptable.

Dr. Chan is very knowledgeable and accurate in her diagnoses. She has referred me to excellent specialists when necessary. Dr. Chan is a great doctor and I am grateful for her expert care.

Professional and thorough

I had my first visit with the doctor today and she was awful. She is dismissive, doesn't listen to your problems and believes you know nothing. I would not recommend her as a physician. Please do not buy into the reviews that were written on ZocDoc or yelp. Those are not accurate reviews.She does not listens to your health issues. Stay away from her and find yourself another physician. She is good for immigrants who do not speak English.

This doctor is good only for the newly immigrant, for people who speak little or no English. She is extremely rude, arrogant, and condescending.

unprofessional, rude, defensive, didn't know how to take blood test, mediocre at best. Huge disappointment. Bad idea. Stay away. I need to chg doc. It was my first visit. She made my previous doc look like a saint because of my awful experience i had there.
