This doctor does not care for his patients and is very pretentious.

Dr. Mena Shaker has truly made a positive impact on my healthcare experience. He was the first doctor to really listen to my concerns and take my symptoms seriously. He conducted all the necessary tests and walked me through every step of the process, ensuring I felt fully informed about the possibility of surgery. I was especially impressed when he personally called the night before my procedure to check on me and address any last-minute concerns. His attentiveness didn’t stop there—he was there post-surgery to update my husband and ensure that I had everything I needed for a smooth recovery. I had minimal pain, no bleeding, and my incisions were barely visible just two weeks later. At my follow-up appointment, he emphasized the importance of self-care and recovery, even acknowledging the pressure many women feel to get back to their normal routines too soon. Dr. Shaker made me feel valued and cared for throughout the entire process, and I would highly recommend him to anyone in… need of a gynecologist.

He thoroughly explained all the potential complications of my surgery and always made me feel confident in his knowledge while being humble enough to acknowledge his limitations. Followed Dr Shaker from NC all the way to TX because I wouldn’t trust anyone else but him for my pregnancy! No words can describe how amazing he is. Trust him with your care! He will go the extra mile for you as a patient. He made us feel safe the whole time.

He is new to Houston Methodist of The Woodlands hospital. He is a terrible OB. I met him in L&D triage. I wanted to try to have a natural birth and he did not support me at all. While I was having painful contractions he proceeded to tell me his ideas and thoughts on why I should consider several interventions due to my baby not being as “active” as he would like to see on the “script” ( by the way my baby was sleeping in my tummy as Kerrie the nurse later confirmed so my baby was just fine!). He then told me that if I chose to not consider his advice or “interventions” should something happen to my baby that it would be “on me”. What a horrible thing to say to any laboring mother. HM the Woodlands can do much better than hiring a doctor like this man. He was just terrible! I am so happy my regular OB came in later so I would not have to deal with him. Mothers beware of this “doctor!”

Dr. Shaker is a great OBGYN doctor. Very approachable. explains well. took care of my problems. listens well and shows sympathy. definitely recommend this doc

Dr Shaker is truly an amazing doctor!! He did a robotic hysterectomy on me and he was so thorough and so intelligent. My surgery went well. I even had minimal pain after the surgery that I only used ibuprofen. didn't need the pain meds. It was a minimally invasive hysterectomy and I went home the same day. He explained everything to me in details. he was kind and patient. he listens! and when he talks, he answers questions that I didn't even ask! I definitely recommend him. His patients are on a waiting list for the procedures he does! I waited for my surgery with him even though there were other doctors in the group who had open slots, but based on my friends who were under his care, I see why the wait! He is patient and he will give you all your options and explain the pros and cons of each and you choose. Best OBGYN experience I have had ever!
