Dr. Meredith Ann Polansky, MD

Did not do any tests to confirm her diagnosis. Not even blood work, not a flu swab in nose when diagnosing for flu. The office said they would call me back and did not return my call. Was not satisfied with this doctor.

I have several issues with my high blood pressure. Doctor just gave me the medication with a very poor explanation of reasons. I later discovered that the reason of my issue was probably sleep apnea. I realized about it because of a consult with another MD who gave me an in-house oxygen test that came abnormal. After I mentioned this to Dr Polansky she told me that it was a good idea to go to a pulmonologist in order to do an oxygen test. Therefore the "diagnosis" was done on just my blood pressure instead of checking other issues first. this is one of the reasons why I have decided to go to another doctor. The other problem was about an event in where I got a weird arrhythmia. I send an e-mail to the nurse just for her to check with the doctor. The arrhythmia was very sever and I expressed that on my e-mail. I never hear from them + when I went for my follow up visit she told me that she didn't received the message. Therefore i don;t know who to blame. Either the nurse or the… doctor. Nurses made several mistakes with my weight and blood pressure in the past. They look always in a hurry

Dr. Meredith Polansky was recommended to my by Smokey Mountain diagnostics as a holistic doctor. While her happy initial greetings seemed sincere and friendly I found an arrogant lack of knowledge in holistic medicine and more importantly an rude attitude quickly surfaced when I had questions. I am not one that has ever had to go to a doctor very often and I am used to being treated respectfully and as a partner in my health and wellbeing. This was not my experience with Dr. Polansky. I thought maybe she had just had bad day but now I have returned twice over the last year and brought up some questions about her policies and requirements that my insurance would not cover. I don't mind paying more money if I understand the necessity and value but this wasn't the case. Her response was "you always have a choice to find another doctor." I left feeling like an unwanted guest instead of a valued patient. I guess I will do just as she suggested, find a new doctor.

I had made an appointment a couple months before to discuss several things with my doctor. However when I arrived, I was asked what ONE thing was bothering me. I was told that I was only to ask about one issue I was having because it was a "work in appointment" which it was not and I explained that to Dr. Polansky. I did get to ask talk to her about two issues I was having, without any help. She just kept saying to keep doing what I was doing (which I thought wasn't working and was the reason why I saw seeing her). Then, at the end, I asked about her opinion on a cleanse, what is healthy and safe.... she said "if you have a friend that has done one and liked it, do that one". Are you serious? I'm asking a professional doctor and they tell me to ask my friends. I am a woman who could lose some weight, and when i ask about it I received no support or information. I want a doctor that will be supportive in helping me be a healthier individual. Not someone who is going to dismiss the… concerns of her patients so she can move on to the next. All in all, I spent about 13 minutes in her office. Well, you win. You got my money without giving me anything. Thanks, but no thanks. You won't see me there again.

I switched to Dr Polansky because I couldn't get my prior doctor to listen and also the wait time was between 30min to an hour. What a difference. I usually get seen within 10 min. and Dr Polansky listens. I feel like I can tell her anything. She not only cares about the whole person, ( physical, mental, and spiritual), but about your whole family. She took my problems seriously and because of her follow-up i found out I needed heart surgery. She probably saved my life. Dr. Polansky you are the BEST!!!!! I couldn't have a more caring doctor!

A very caring human being as well as a Doctor. Makes having a Doctor's appointment something you'll look forward to.

I met Dr. Polansky when I moved to Asheville and needed a new local physician, and I have since changed my view of dreading doctor visits. She is the most caring, thorough physician I've ever had, and I've been through several. Whether my vists concern female health care or regular health maintenance, I never feel like just a chart number with her; she asks questions and truly listens--and actually remembers things about me as a person. She starts our visits off with a huge smile and asks, "How's life?" In addition to having a wonderful patience and kind demeanor, she is professional, but eccentric. There is nothing I feel embarrassed to discuss with her, which is rare in most doctor-patient relationships, and I never fear that my honesty will bring a judgemental admonition. She has become a doctor that I'd follow anywhere within driving distance. For any woman who is looking for a new doctor, I recommend Dr. Polansky with the highest regard.

I recently moved here and am most impressed with Dr. Polansky. I am lucky to have gotten her as I was assigned her when I made my appointment. I like her knowledge and her personality. I trust her, which is interesting because I have only seen her twice.
