Dr. Meredith Kay Rosenthal, MD

I saw Dr. Rosenthal for her "great" reviews on Banner Health Website after my long time and absolutely amazing doctor, Dr. Silberman retired earlier this year. I was so used to Dr. Silberman knowing my chart and was very kind. But boy what a rude awakening. Not even a smile, hello or apology when she walked in 15 minutes late. She was so abrupt from the minute she walked in. She hadn't even reviewed my chart before coming in. I struggle with some memory type issues and she really overwhelmed me with all her questions that were literally on her computer. I am an older gal with a lot of various health issues and broke down into tears. I never do that but losing my long time doctor who was kind and caring to this was too much! There is no excuse for how she came off. Even after I cried she was so unsympathetic. I am truly shocked she shows such high reviews on Banner Health. I moved onto another doctor and think she is going to work out fabulously. Rosenthal was horrible.

I do not recommend this Doctor. In my opinion, Dr. Rosenthal is the type of doctor that makes you never want to go back to the doctor again. I went in for a simple wellness check. No sickness. I just turned 39 so I thought it would be a good idea to get myself established with a PCP. The appointment started off bad. I almost walked out within the first 2 minutes of her entering the room. She has no bedside manner. She started the appointment by aggressively questioning me about a medication I am currently taking and questioned me about the prescribing doctor's credentials and office location. I found it to be very unsettling and not relevant given that I was there for a wellness check. I tried to ignore that to give her a chance, but her attitude and lack of bedside manner made me regret ever coming in for a wellness check. After the appointment, I went to checkout and found that she billed me for a wellness check and a general exam. One of the front desk managers went back to discuss… it with her and when she returned, I was told that Dr. Rosenthal said the extra billing code was for discussing my other medication and that was not included in the wellness exam. I never came in to discuss my other medication. I came in for a wellness check. The only reason my prescribed medication came up is because I filled out the new patient forms and listed the medication I was on and then she questioned me about it. Otherwise, it would have never come up, as that is not what I was there for. So, if I would have just left the new patient forms blank, I would have avoided an additional exam fee, since that would have never come up. I find that to be absurd. I have never had a doctor try to upcharge me for answering a question that they asked me. If you do choose to see Dr. Rosenthal, I would not fill out the new patient form and I would not answer any questions asked by her without first asking if she is going to bill you separate for answering. Really horrible experience all around with her and I would recommend others to look around for a different doctor before scheduling an appointment with Dr. Rosenthal.
