Dr. Merlin Leroy Hamer, MD

Do not recommend for sure on chronic pain. I met him when he was about four years graduated (I never took the task to review him) my pain was new and very mild. He did not do much. I self refer myself to Occupational therapy and the little strength exercises done for no more that ten minutes made me worse. At that point quit Ot went back to him, he could not know what diagnosis. I learned to tolerate. Pain flare up and some locking was new went back to him. He did not find anything. All this time cray says a diagnosis the Dr hammer does not agree with. Finally six years after pain got constant, he ordered an MRI showed tfcc tear and the same diagnosis from six years prior. He said it was rheumatologic. I was in pain, but he could not help. I asked some time off as typing and manipulation triggered pain,he disagreed, I forced myself working pain worsen notified his office and got. No message back other than I should look for a second opinion!so he is done with me leaving me in lbo. I… ended going to outside Dr who same day put me back to work and able to take care of my two kids after an injection. Iust said Dr hammer said an injection won't help. Eventually two months after I saw rheumatologist who said hand dr should follow me up.

I was fortunate to be referred to Dr. Jake Hamer for the pain in my thumb joint. Dr. Hamer, after reviewing other options I had already attempted, recommended a CMC surgery on my thumb joint. It has now been 9 weeks since the surgery and while I still have some residual surgical pain, I expect this to subside and have complete success with my hand. Dr. Hamer has a great bedside manner, truly seems to listen to concerns and is an excellent surgeon. I highly recommend him.

This dr skilled. Fix much problems. wow. So training many years. Much recommend.

Dr. Merlin Hamer, or "the wiz" as we called him at Hogwarts really had a way with the wand. As you can see from his picture, his youth potions are second to none. His training in wizardry compliments his skill and expertise in his hand surgery. He did a great job on my nephew's hand. You could say he gave my nephew a great hand job!

Dr. Hamer, or "Merlin" as he prefers to be called, is quite the wizard. He worked his magic on my torn dorsal interroseus muscle, and it fixed all of my grip-related problems. Now I'm back to sailing and I feel confident I can really grip my boom! Also he is stunning for a man of his age. I wish he'd share his secrets!

How does a 74 year old doctor look like that? what is going on with this website...Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind getting surgery done by this sweet potato, but this is a little misleading.

I was amazed to be seen a bit EARLY the day of my first appointment. Yes, early. After that I was seen exactly on time. Dr. and staff were all so nice and willing to spend time explaining the diagnosis, testing, treatment. I've had enough other medical conditions/experiences to tell you this one was above average. I can't think of a negative thing to say and have already referred others to Dr. Hamer. I live in Yuma, AZ and believe me, it was well worth the drive. Feel confident in your choice to see Dr. Hamer. You won't be sorry.
