Dr. Michael James Barber, MD

Does not listen to this patient. When you have a mental illness and you get confused, easy because of your mental illness, he doesn’t have the patience to listen to you and to give you time to explain yourself. He rushes you and hangs up on you. He doesn’t look at the information in front of him from the pharmacy to see that your prescriptions are filled for three months. When you complain about your prescriptions, causing you to sleep too much and not working for you he just tries to increase the dose as that’s gonna work for you better. And doesn’t want to change it to a different medication that might actually help you and work for you. He has no patience. He hangs up on his patients that he’s seen before. They’re even done with her actual visit. His bedside manner is none. If you were really needing help, I would not go see him I wouldn’t even take my animal to see him.

Dr Barber is an excellent doctor even though he is a Boston Red Sox fan ..

I love Dr. Barber, but the wait is always close to one and a half hour or more. It takes an act of Congress to get through by phone and calling you back is not an option. I just received a call from the hospital I was having surgery planned and I missed my pre-op appointment. Well NOBODY from Dr. Barber told me that I had an appointment.

I am very pleased with the services that I receive from Dr. Barber. I've been seeing him since 2008 and I want to remain under his services.

he treated my son and he was excellent.

i first saw him at cypress creek hospital when i voluntaily placed myself inpatient. He was very courteous and took time to explain my disorders, medications the procedure of ect i had done...now that i see him on an outpatient basis he is still just as kind, and takes the time to really try to help me... I am truly greatful to Dr. Barber he has saved my life tenfold...
