Dr. Michael Zangwill Blumberg, MD

My family has been seeing Dr. Blumberg for many years. If you are looking for someone to pamper or console you, he's not your best choice. Dr. Blumberg is an excellent doctor. He knows what he is doing and he has achieved fantastic results for my family and me. If you are seeking relief from allergies or respiratory issues, I would highly recommend Dr. Blumberg. If you are looking for empathy or for someone to make you feel really good about yourself, I would check into other types of specialists.

Dr. Blumberg wasn't the best with patient interaction. Most importantly, he knew nothing about what foods my allergies were in and offered very little help to help me. I experienced anaphylaxis multiple times after the official visit when he found my specific allergy, because I didn't know of hidden ingredients such as modified food starch, maltodextrin, unknown starch, etc. I literally had to figure everything out on my own. As an allergist, he should've known!! He established my allergy but after was completely useless. The whole staff at the Midlothian office seems miserable, and I'm positive they all could care less what I was there for. One of the nurse practitioners, Stephanie, is plain RUDE! She could care less. I get the impression this staff could walk out of the healthcare industry and never look back. They're probably the large portion of medical professionals that don't go to school to help people and because it's their passion. They do it for the money. If I'm wrong,… great! Otherwise, people that are jaded in their line of work, especially one that is built on helping and caring for health needs to reevaluate and retire, or move on! That being said, the front desk was not once friendly. Not even a smile. I'm not a regular, and I'm courteous to the staff, that is not the issue. I'm looking for a new allergist. One that has time, has respect, and an abundance of knowledge. That really isn't too much to ask!! With a busy, practice, revenue shouldn't be of concern! Utilize your resources and get a new staff!!!

I went to his office to see what allergies I had and during the whole process he just could not lighten up. He was rude, cold, & just seemed as if I was a burden to him. He spent no time with me. He didnt go into any detail of my allergy. Again, not trying to become BFF's with him, but goodness it would be just nice if you showed some compassion or care for patients. Maybe, since your 100 years old its time to retire?

Dr. Blumberg never asked what my symptoms were. I tried to tell him and he indicated I was to just answer his questions. I had heard of his great reputation and perhaps he is highly respected among his peers, but his bedside manner, interest in the patient, and patience in general were lacking. Maybe he was having a bad day, but I noticed that even his staff was reluctant to approach him. I can't recommend this physicians - there are too many other allergists in the city who have great reputations - and are polite and caring toward patients.

been getting allergy injections every other week for 10 years. the last 8 or 9 months have been very bad there, there is no longer any staff I recognize in the office other than 1 receptionist.I used to be able to go in and get my shot in about 5 minutes then wait my 30 minutes after. Now I have to wait 15 or 20 minutes to even get my shot.

I've seen Dr. Blumberg or one of his nurse practitioners for over 20 years. He's helped me a lot as my allergies are much improved. It bothered me at first when Dr. Blumberg left the room and I didn't know if he was finished or not but I've learned to ask the nurse if I have more questions and she will either ask him or he will come back. I'm not going to see him for his bedside manner but for improvement of my allergies and he's done that. He is a very busy doctor and even though I usually see a nurse practitioner now, they still work under his supervision so I get the benefit of his expertise.

took 2 weeks for someone to call me back to schedule and appointment for the Sommerville office; had to wait for 30 mins in the lobby then 20 mins befoe he came to my room; his cell phone rang ( and he left to answer it) during my exam; the staff seemed rushed and inefficient; the front desk staff werent helpful or friendly; and he told us to schedule a follow up appointment with the nurse practioner;when he was done he just got up and left and we had to ask the nurse if he was done with us; there seemed to be alot of tension and disorganization in the office overall, especially from the many patients who were waiting for allergy injections;

I am a first time mom with a son with many food allergies. Dr. Blumberg nor his staff were very informative with the situation. I felt like they were just trying to get me in and out.
