Dr. Michael Alton Chizner, MD

I have waited 30 years to finally have a specialist take the time to read through my health history and diagnose me properly. Dr. Chizner and his staff's bed side manner were amazing and set me at ease. I come from a medical family and everyone had recommended I go see this doctor to see if he could get me on the road to recovery. I finally feel that their is a doctor that not only TRULY cares about my health, but takes the time to really listen to my concerns, has the knowledge to recommend the most beneficial next steps as if I were his own daughter! I cannot be happier to have found Dr. Chizner and have already started referring him to my friends and family. It is a shame that a patient must advocate for their health over and over until she has found some of sound practice and superb bed side manner but a blessing that physicians like Dr. Chizner and staff still exist!!

he is a renowned Doctor. He seems to be good and care about the patients above the average. I feel that I am in good hands. and as my primary doctor said to me, the best doctor is the one that cares about you. Most of them do not.

I called to make an appointment, several years ago, and in talking with the lady at the desk, I decided to go in and also do the paperwork...which I hate!! Trying to find his office, which is easy, I got lost. I went to the heart part of the hospital figuring they would know, and a nurse said, "Just a minute, I'll show you." Very nicely she escorted to me to the elevator, and on the way she said, "How do you get to see him? Are you the Shah of Iran or something? He only sees famous people." I played along with her and told her I felt badly in that she didn't recognize me. He was, BTW, recommended to me by a friend that was a cardiologist further up the coast. To far for me to travel regularly. Anyway, at first I thought the lady at the desk was short and rude. After a while I got to know her a bit, and she is basically nice. There were two nurses there, that when they gave me a stress test, our jaws would ache afterwards, from laughing so much. But the waits were uncalled for.… The blame was put on the fact he is/was an instructor as well. Several times I came out of the exam room, after waiting in there for 45+ minutes, telling them, "I'm leaving!"...and then things would start to happen. The reviews that said he was "aloof", uncaring, insincere...were right on. He'd make his entrance into the exam room, with his apprentices, and sit on the chair as if it were his throne. He never read the chart before coming in. He would ask the PA all the questions about past visits, what "is he presenting with", etc. It was like I was not there, or unconscious. After a stress test or echo, they wold put me in a special waiting room where they said he would come in and talk to me about the test. He never would come in. He would yell from the desk, which was in view from the open door, and he would simply say, "You are good. You can go now". I would ask him about certain items I was concerned about and he would say, "You fine, your good." Eye contact was seldom made. Obviously, I guess I wasn't famous enough for him. Well, what goes around comes around...and I will not be going back there.

Dr. Chizner is one of the finest doctors I have met in me entire life. He listens to you while his assistant takes notes. One appointment took two hours of his time. No other doctor is as caring and sensitive as this physician. I have been to many doctors all of my life. I was born with a birth defect and never expected to live. Fifty years later I started to experience heart problems. One morning he brought in ten med students he was teaching. He is simply the best. I wouldnt go to any other doctor. People who think he is aloof may be intimidated by his intelligence and ability but that is not his fault! He is the best.

This Cardiologist is simply the best. He actually cares and listens to my concerns, and if he finds an issue he tackles it immediately. They even called me at home to see how I was feeling. His assistants and Office staff are very caring, treat my issues with true concern, have a sense of humor, and I am all around happy with my experience. Thank you for saving my life.

This is a man who truly cares about his patients on every level. He makes his patients feel like special friends and will drop what he's doing to make sure you are cared for. He is busy because he is such an excellent doctor, but he is one of the few doctors who will take the time to listen and explain...and not make you feel rushed. Incredibly knowledgeable and smart...the author of several books and articles...a very special doctor.
