Dr. Michael Hawks, MD

kind of full of himself didn’t answer many questions I had, felt super impersonal

I have had two events requiring an orthopedic surgeon's attention and feel so fortunate to have had Dr. Hawks leading the team that cared for me in both instances. The first experience was with Dr. Hawks as surgeon at the downtown Orlando Advent Hospital. His surgical skills put me in good position for full recovery. His patience, empathy, and humor provided the confidence I needed as I regained full use of a broken limb. The second event, occurring four years later, was not as serious and did not require surgery or hospitalization. I simply cannot say enough or give enough praise to the care that Dr. Hawks provided in the first instance and now continues to provide, as a part of the Advent/Rothman Institute. I found everything associated with the Rothman office experience to be top-notch, beginning with registration on the portal (the most user-friendly I have found), the efficiency of the office routine which included finalizing registration, additional X-rays, a visit with a… nurse gathering pertinent information for Dr. Hawks prior to my consultation with him. Most important was the time that Dr. Hawks spent with me, in assessing my situation, and coming up with a plan for my care. I feel so fortunate to have Dr. Hawks and Rothman Orthopedics as a resource in the Orlando community.

Very good doctor

Thank you Dr. Hawks and his staff for fixing my broken arm. I also liked that there was hardly any waiting room time. Dr. Hawks explained everything to me before and after the surgery . He never rushed me through the office visits.

Dr. Hawks did emergency surgery on my arm and I could not have been more pleased with him and his staff! His bedside manner was exceptional, I was scared to death as I had never broken a bone before, and he was so wonderful assuring me it would all be ok. I had to visit his office several times after surgery for follow up visits, and his staff was just as kind and caring as he was. I have to say I looked forward to each time I went. Never waited more then 5 or 10 min, and everyone was so nice. My arm now is healing beautifully. My range of motion is almost back to a 100% 7 months later, and this was a severe break of the elbow and upper arm. I would highly recommend Dr. Michael Hawks as a highly skilled surgeon. It's a shame that more people don't take the time to write the good reviews instead of just the bad ones. He and his staff were worth the 5 Stars I gave them. 1

Dr.Hawks operated on my broken hip and did a great job.He’s very approachable,explains things,doesn’t rush you and is empathetic to your needs.Nothing but excellent rating from me as well as I would recommend him to you for your care

The best

It was a pleasure meeting Dr. Hawks and will always be grateful for his help in fixing my severe broken ankle. Unfortunately, I am not able to say the same about his staff. Very unpleasant phone manners every time we spoke. Made me feel not welcomed to the point I never went back for my follow up and transferred to another orthopedics facility that were very professional and friendly.

Fantastic bedside manner. Took time to explain to my mom her surgery and what would happen after surgery. Would recommend him to anyone.
