Dr. Michael W Higgins, DO

After more than a year of pain management & PT at the VA my husband finally received the green light for surgical repair for a hamstring/groin avulsion (extremely painful.) Unfortunately the VA is booked for months so my husband was referred to Dr. Higgins thru the VA's Community Care program. After waiting 1-1/2 hours (this particular day was triple booked!) Dr. Higgins spent a whole 3 minutes to tell my husband that he didn't need surgery (after asking him why he was there even though he had a whole file with info, x-rays and MRI data.) Dr. Higgins was dismissive, rude & arrogant. What an absolute waste of precious time.

I recently had to go back to Dr Higgins for an issue for my shoulder. Last year I had to have knee replacement surgery's and he and his staff were absolutely wonderful. This past visit I had for my shoulder issue I knew you would be in good hands. It was because of Dr Higgins and his staff that I am at the stage of the recovery that I am from both my knees being replaced and my shoulder issue is on the road to recovery. Thank you all for everything you all do for your patients.

This jerk is unbelievable. You have to submit 10 pages of paperwork if your new. 8 of them are relevant to your malady. After you drop this off (or fax them like you did in 1970), the King will grant an appointment. He breezes in, walks to the x-rays, and announces I need a hip replacement. No introduction, no warm-up, no NOTHING! I declined his RX, and said I had to think about it. That took all of 1 hour (after the paperwork) 7 minutes with the "doctor". PS: Staff was very nice, grounds and office are deplorable.

He is a true professional, I found Dr. Higgins extremely knowledgeable with a warm, friendly personality. I would highly recommend him.

yells, swears, & makes you feel bad. walks out of room after only 1 min visit. never again with this doctor.

This doctor is a joke, spends less then 2 mins with you & walks away. Uses foul language in office. We will never go back to him

We call his office and explain what's going with my knee.,The lady in the office was very helpful no one would take me from the VA. So I ask around they said he be the Doctor they would go to . You just don't fine Doctors like him any more . So I want to say thank you for caring.

I first met Dr. Higgens at the hospital after I broke my tibia. He helped me avoid surgery. Next, I had my knee replaced due to osteoarthritis. It's been perfect. Now I'm getting shots in my other knee to ease the arthritis pain. He explains my x-rays and options. I have no complaints, and his office staff is great.

Dr. Higgins didn’t listen to me for weeks of me complaining of pain after my knee replacement. Found out the hardware popped out causing fracture of my tibia. After a revision and subsequent bone infection and 3rd surgery(not by him thankfully) I lost my knee entirely and cannot walk at all. I now sit in a wheelchair. Think twice before seeing this doctor.

Only doctor within an hour drive that takes our insurance but they won’t see my son for a broken arm because they aren’t taking new patients even though I am a previous patient. I’ll be looking for a new doctor also.
