Dr. Michael Brandon Johnson, MD

Staff were pleasant and professional. Had all paperwork, disks and reports, and online stuff done prior to initial visit and arrived 30 min prior and waited for at least another 30 min past appointment time. Didn’t meet Dr. Johnson. The nurse practitioner seemed good, but I didn’t choose Dr. Johnson to see his NP. They offered to give me a steroid shot next Wednesday and that they would call to set up the appointment. Kelsey called the next day, but I couldn’t take the call and she left a voicemail for me to call back. I called back at 1:10pm but can only leave a voicemail for someone to call me back. Left a voicemail, but no callback before close of business. Left an online msg thru Integris and Me before close of business, but no reply. Now the weekend and probably no appointments available on Wed, the only day they give shots. Seems it would be more efficient to have made the appointment while I was there, or answer calls.

My first visit with Dr. B Johnson went very well. Wait time was within reason and he had a great bedside manner.

I saw Dr. Johnson a few years ago for hip problems. Back now for nee issues. He, his PA, and staff are all very pleasant and professional. They are very good about answering questions. Dr. Johnson is great at treatment and/or surgery to repair hip injuries if you are not in need of a full hip replacement. Only issue, and reason for my 3 rating, is scheduling. Takes at least 3 weeks for a visit. If you need an MRI or other test outside his office this will take at least 3 weeks. Then you wait another 2 or 3 weeks to get back in to see Dr. Johnson for results and treatment. Just had a new MRI request from his office denied for lack of support info. Talked to K. in his office who said “most requests get denied and they have an internal plan to work with insurance to correct the request”. With the known delays in their own scheduling, why don’t they plan to send the right info with the initial approval request? Way too long to wait for actual treatment while in pain.

He may be the best hip doctor in the area, but his bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. Ultimately, I will find another doctor. After labral tear surgery, I was still having hip pain. Due to the global pandemic, I procrastinated on PT. I went for a follow-up appt and was reprimanded severely for not going. He was not even nice about it. I didn't get a choice in where I went for PT either. "Why would you go _____? I told you to go to _____!" After going to the place he required, I contracted Covid because they did not follow CDC guidelines. As a result, my entire family got Covid. I will never grace his office again.

Dr. Johnson was very informative during my office visit. He and his staff were very friendly. Ultimately, I ended up having surgery after trying conservative treatment. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome! If you have hip issues he’s your guy!

Dr. M. Brandon Johnson is an expert in his field. I was so thankful that I found someone who knew how to get rid of my hip pain. He repaired my labrum arthroscopically. He gave me my live back! The staff was always helpful and kind. I loved my experience at Community Hospital. I had been to the other orthopedic hospital and they had performed an inferior surgery on me. I was still in so much pain. I am pain free now, thanks to Dr. Johnson!! I want everyone to know that there is hope for their hip pain. Just make sure you go to Dr. Brandon Johnson!
