Great doctor !

I don't understand how anyone could ever leave a negative review. Dr. Kwiat and his office staff are some of the kindest, most compassionate people I've ever met. Dr. Kwiat is attentive and knowledge and gets to know his patients. He has creative insights and wants what is best for his patients.

My father is in a nursing home. This doctor upped a benzodiazepine med to 200 to 400% of the dose which made my father very wobbly on his feet and increased his dementia confusion and turned him form a mild fall risk to a severe fall risk and making father relatively comatose. When I voiced my concern to nursing Mgr at local nursing home, this person called him, informed him of my concern and she called me and said he said he no longer wants to be our doctor since we do not agree with his decisions. This is an old school dictatorial mgmt style that is disrespectful and dysfunctional. I think voicing these observations is critical in care. A good doctor will work with a family and see things not in black and white, but offer choices because especially in alzheimers the meds relating to the disease is not an exact science. The medicine regimen is outdated, archaic and we are glad he resigned from my father. New research shows benzodiazepines to cause more confusion in alzheimers… patients. I would suggest being wary of any doctor who refuses to talk to the family of the patient they treat and who is unwilling to give validation to their concerns and observations grounded in years of 24/7 observation.

Dr Kwiat is extremely knowledgeable and an expert in his field. He has helped myself and my family tremendously.

He does not want to hear about your problems in any detail. All he wants to do is to rush you through and prescribe medications. He cancelled several appointments and had a long waiting period to reschedule. When I called to find out if I should be concerned about a possible side effect of one of the medications he prescribed, he didn't want to talk to me or see me. Instead he told me "to just stop taking the medication if I didn't like it" when it is contraindicated to stop this medication abruptly. He is terrible and should not be allowed to continue his practice!

I found Dr Kwiat at first interesting, but after a few visits was under the impression that he was not interested in my condition or concern of the medications and side effects. At one point he commented that I should just weigh the side effects vs. the feeling of not being on the drug. Nothing about changing drugs. Also, don't be late for an appt. they will cancel on you then will not reschedule a new appt till you pay a missed appt. charge. I have waited for Drs. In the past and been late for appts., but have never had anyone stop like that. Especially if your on medication that has withdraw conditions. Didn't think he cared.

Had a good experience here. Brought my Mom in for care at the recommendation of her PCP. Pleasant, private office. Good parking. No wait time at all for scheduled appointment. Doctor met us at the door. Pleasant interaction and good doctor skills. My Mom got better! Would recommend highly.
