Dr. Michael Loran Pearl, MD

I went in to have an ovarian cyst removed. During the pre-op appt. I was given paperwork to sign that stated that my entire left ovary and Fallopian tube would be removed. I pointed out the mistake and they corrected it and assured me that just the cyst would be removed. After surgery, I was told that all went well. 2 weeks later, I got a phone call informing me that my entire ovary and Fallopian tube WAS removed. Not only that, I have a huge scar!

Had a wonderful appointment with Dr. Pearl this morning. Having read a few negative reviews, I was very worried about the information he was to tell me and how I would react if he were cold and abrupt as several reviewers indicated. I was super impressed with his manner. He was knowledgeable, very pleasant and warm and spent considerable time with me explaining various options in great detail. I would highly recommend him! P.S as a surgeon, he was not pushing surgery whatsoever.....and that was very significant to me. I would definitely return if necessary.

Michael L Pearl is the absolute worst doctor on this planet. Couldn't agree more with all the negative reviews on here because each of those reviews all say the same thing; what a poor, condescending and uncaring person and doctor he actually is. Gotta laugh at the positive reviews on here; he probably pays people to write these reviews just to up his rating; that's the kind of person he really is! Why he thought he could be a cancer doctor is inconceivable! Even if he was a veterinarian I wouldn't let him touch my pet knowing what I know now about this guy. In all reality all I can do is warn anyone needing an excellent ob/gyn cancer doctor is to NOT go to Michael Pearl. Find someone else who can give you or your family member or friend a chance at life because it's now too late for my family member who deserved so much better than the incompetency of Michael Pearl. Hindsight is 20/20 but an honest warning might just SAVE A LIFE!

Dr. Pearl is the best doctor I have ever been to. Not only is he a great surgeon, he cares so much for his patients, and he is an extremely kind person with a great sense of humor. He operated on me twice (9 years apart). I wouldn’t trust anyone else.

michael pearl is a complete joke of a "doctor." He has NO compassion as he exhibited towards my family member who he misdiagnosed, delayed their chemo treatments and said to me, "When you gotta die, you gotta die," at which point my family member died in his care. michael pearl always avoided me and my family when we had questions to ask of him, and he actually showed his disgust with us asking normal questions when he told us to leave in an angry demeanor. Don't believe false and fake reviews that are on here only to increase his "stars" rating; that is flipping deplorable. Read the other negative reviews on here with LOW ratings; those are the ones to be believed. In my experience, no one writes negative/false reviews if they or their family haven't been totally and utterly mistreated, disrespected and basically allowed to die for no reason other than being a Narcissistic piece of garbage!

He is the best, he has been my doctor for almost 4 yrs. He shows compassion and tells like it is. I have the most complete trust in him his team and every cancer care I have received.

He's awful! He doesn't know how to treat cancer. Don't waste your time going to him, you will lose valuable time. Sends you home and tells you to think about hospice when you have so many options and I'm not in bad shape. Doing much better since I left him. He is a "Google" Doctor. He probably looks up everything because he knows nothing!!

This guy walks into your hospital room and starts immediately telling you that your first option is to DIE! Wouldn't a caring doctor first discuss your options to LIVE? Wouldn't a caring doctor first discuss different treatment options in order to better your chances to continue living? Even a car technician gives your repair options for your car before telling you to junk it! It is amazing that someone like Dr. Pearl can have such a low value on life for someone in his position. If you are going to be a doctor who treats cancer patients, do you just write them off or do you try to save their lives? And to top it all off, he should learn to treat family members with respect and not like more problems he doesn't want to deal with. What a joke! No wonder he is always accepting new patients!

He's an awful doctor with no bed side manner. He has no clue what's going on. After 1 treatment wasn't successful, he just sends you home to die. He doesn't due research and see what else he can do for you. He has a smug attitude!

Lack of follow up by Dr. Pearl and his staff lead to death of loved one. Should have gone elsewhere for treatment but too late now. If you go to Dr. Pearl and Stony Brook Cancer Center and start to notice that he and his staff start to write you off with no communication with you, do not hesitate to seek medical help somewhere else. DON'T wait until it's too late for you or your loved one. This doctor, staff and center get many positive reviews but once you've dealt with them, you will see for yourself that you are NOT in good hands under Dr. Pearl's or Stony Brook Cancer Center's care. Please heed my advice.
