Dr. Michael Potes, DO

Dr. Potes earned a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine (DO) at Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan in 2018. An Upper Peninsula native, Dr. Potes is a graduate of Marquette Senior High School and pursued his undergraduate at Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan, where he played collegiate football under scholarship. Following medical school, Dr. Potes served his internal medicine residency at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. "I'm happy to be back in the area and help the community I grew up in," said Dr. Potes, who resides in Marquette with his wife. In his practice, Dr. Potes will work closely with referring providers and patient's primary care providers to diagnose and treat digestive disorders and diseases. His specializations include gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, …endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Bravo studies and pill capsule studies. Outside of work, Dr. Potes said he enjoys hunting, fishing and watching the Detroit-based professional sports teams.
