terrible in diagnosing and he has a corrupt and evil personality and character. He is quick to judge you and not listen to your history and symptoms. just a bad person and doctor overall. do not waste your time or money seeing this man.

I was treated by him during a hospital stay and it was the most horrifying encounter with a dr in my life. he treated me like i was an animal and forced me to take all kinds of psychiatric drugs which he never explained why i needed them. This man can ruin your life with his reckless pill pushing and his cold mean cocky personality. i dont know how he has any good reviews or being a top doctor. he should retire and not treat patients. dont let him treat you. he does not listen and does not care about his patients. he will torture you will antipsychotics and mood stabilizer drugs which will be impossible to get off.

I found dr sacks to lack the ability to communicate properly.He did not listen to my concerns or problems. He was in a rush to prescribe drugs. I found him to be a cold harsh personality. I would find a more caring professional dr then this man.

Horrible doctor. He treated me like a dog and made fun of me. i felt very uncomfortable with him prescribing me drugs. He did not listen to my issues and jumped to a diagnosis. Avoid this man if you want to save your life. he will ruin you forever if you follow his advice. I was smart enough to find another Doctor but not before he damaged me with his cocktail of drugs. Avoid.

Did not find him to be honest or sincere. he has a huge ego and will knock you down and make you feel that you are a less of a person. he was cold and not friendly. avoid him at all costs.

I am astonished at how horrible the reviews are! Just another example of why you can't always trust everything you read on the internet. Dr. Sacks is a gifted psychiatrist who helped me tremendously in a time of an awful crisis in my life. He is brilliant. He even helped me identify things about myself that I didn't want to hear at first, but was 100% true. My guess about the bad reviews is that he works with hospitalized patients, many of whom are disgruntled with their hospital stay for whatever reason and then blaming him for it. Don't listen to them - find out for yourself. Dr. Sacks is great.

He got entirely the wrong idea of what happened, refused to listen to corrections, insisted I made it up, called me "stupid, crazy and a loner" and then defended that when I brought it up again in front of an intern.

He treated me during a hospital stay. Overly self-confident in his initial diagnostic hunches even if they are wrong and will not consider or explore any other possibilities. Doesn't take into account any other medical conditions and assumes everything is psychiatric. Despite his supposedly illustrious reputation, he is a poor physician (psychiatrists are after all also medical doctors). Not to mention his intimidating manner when dealing with patients which I don't believe is conducive to making his patients be open with him.
