Dr. Michael P. Sethna

He listenings thoroughly and takes the time to figure out your needs and welcomes significant others input. He might run late but he is worth the wait because he gives you the time to listen and figure out what he needs to make you get better! Best doctor I have ever had.

Prescribed a muscle relaxer (like the other review had with her son), told me nothing was wrong and gave me speech on how muscle relaxers worked for him because he suffered with migraines (watch his video on noran clinic)... just because it worked for him, doesn't mean they would work for me (I wasn't suffering with migraines) Make a diagnosis, not a guess... he just wanted to get people in/out the door like every other doctor. Also agree with another review left, always late, has never been on time for appointments.

I accompanied my son to see Dr. Sethna, as my son talks very slowly and has huge pauses and many times a Doctor doesn't have time to listen. First Dr. Sethna told me repeatedly that I could not talk, then he had no patience to hear my son. He said there is no such thing as closed head injuries and his theory is its all due to whiplash. He prescribed a strong muscle relaxant that my son who lives alone would take at bedtime. Dr. Sethna cautioned him that he would probably be unable to get to the bathroom during the night and he would also possibly see people or animals in his room if he woke up. No physical therapy, pain remediation, plan. This for a person who has several documented mild traumatic brain injuries. We never returned.

Dr. Sethna is amazing. After a sudden change in health, from healthy active granola hiking girl to severely disabled desperate to survive human being barely, and being told for two years by so many Dr's that there was nothing wrong with me (therefore, all in my head), I met with Dr. Sethna, who effectively sought out and found the primary physical abnormality in our first visit!!! (I have POTS.) He then went on to additionally discover and accurately diagnose my mysterious, terrible, daily, intense headaches that I had not yet even mentioned! This was all in my very FIRST visit (July '12)! Dr. Sethna listened!!! He is the opposite of condescending. He is compassionate. He is skillfully accurate; brilliant. If ever he is running behind schedule, I can smile contently to myself, feeling thankful that somebody, possibly desperate for competent and compassionate care, was receiving the help they needed. Also, how often do you read the notes after a Dr visit? I had never ever seen an… accurate note until I read his! That was also quite impressive. Follow up care has been thorough and amazing as well. Extremely helpful staff. My husband and I thank Jesus for Dr. Michael Sethna.

Excellent physician, highly competent, very knowledgeable. I've had chronic headaches/migraines for a long time; I haven't been able to find a neurologist who could help me get a handle on them -- even a specialist. On the first visit, Dr. Sethna made the correct diagnosis. Listens well, patient, and very compassionate physician. Highly recommended.

He double books his appointments and twice arrived late at the clinic, so that there was a waiting room filled with people all waiting to see him first thing in the morning. Worst doctor I ever saw. He dismissed my neurological symptoms telling me he thought I was making them up. I later learned I had a serious medical situation that he should have figured out.

Dr. Sethna has such a wonder bedside manner. He is ALWAYS willing to listen and explains things to you in a way that is not condensending. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgable and caring neurologist in the twin cities.

Every time I got an appointment with him he never sees me on time. Right now I am waiting to see him again. My appt time to see him is 320pm. It is now 418pm. Really? Seriously, it makes me wonder....Would he be late to a surgical procedure? Noran Clinics need to speak to him about his!
