Front office rude and highly unprofessional,I am now on permanent disability because of dr.shapiro,after 3 surgeries,which should have been one.admitted he measured wrong

Horrible MD. Did not perform surgery correctly and I am now in more pain. I have since had two other opinions and they say at 48 years old and in good health otherwise I can only fix his botched job with a total knee replacement. My medical group has since dropped him because he performed multiple hip replacements that popped out.

I had Dr Shapiro do a knee replacement at the end of 2015. He screwed up on everything from not paying attention to my skin allergy to adhesives, to placing the metal replacement over the bone which has made put me in pain every day since the surgery. The metal rubs against my ligament every time I walk or move and goes right into the ligament if I sleep in bad position, which I don't know until the severe pain wakes me. The tape caused severe blood blisters and when I told him he had to remove the tape wherever the skin was pink or red, my skin came off with the tape. He told me I would be able to walk 11/2 to 2 miles a day after my knee healed. That will never happen unless doctors come up with a new knee replacement which won't cause more bone loss. I consider myself a cripple on the right leg because of his terrible surgery!

Had ankle surgery with plates and screws in Europe. 2 weeks after my surgery I visited Dr Shapiro for a follow up. He took out my cast, did not put a new one or even a splint or boot and left me unprotected and in severe pain. Even though I told him that I need to be casted for 6 weeks and thats common practice too! I ended up going to the ER the next day in excruciating pain, where they placed a spint. Worst doctor ever! Dont go, he doesnt care about his patients.

I called three times to make an appt with this dr and his office once they said you have to have MRI result before we book any appointment. They said their lunch time is till 1:30 and I called at 1:40-2:00 pm still I couldn’t make an appt and after 2:30 I called and aging what is the Authorization is for I said maybe shoulder and neck and they said oh we can’t he cannot treat the neck I’m sure they already have Authorization in the system but it was kind a hard for them to go and take a look at the authorization then just need to search her name. Let’s see my primary doctor recommend him and I don’t know what is exactly going on but I got authorization do I have to specific about it or you won’t don’t want new customer or any customer that’s the question don’t waste your time to call this office

Dr . Shapiro is a rock star. His bedside manner, along with his knowledge makes him an awesome doc. He listens. Understands. A++++ amazing doctor.

A doctor without respect or civility toward his patients. Does not imbue confidence or ability. His staff could also do with some training in people skills.

Had surgery on knee for minor menicus repair. 5 months later and after seeing him every 3 weeks in between and complaining of severe pain still, I find out from another doctor I need a full knee replacement. If Shapiro had done a simple x-ray at 2 months when I was still complaining of pain, he would have caught problem and it could have been reversed at that time. Now it is too late due to his negliect. Very disappointed.
