Michael K. Shindle, MD, has expertise in sports medicine-related injuries of the shoulder and knee as well as foot and ankle surgery. His training and experience allow him to provide comprehensive care for athletes, including those who participate in professional, collegiate, high school, and recreational sports.

Dr. Shindle is a consultant for the National Football League New York Giants, Assistant Team Physician for the Major League Soccer New York Red Bulls, and Team Physician for USA Hockey. He has been selected to cover the 2011 US Men's National Select Hockey Team that will compete at the November German Cup in Munich.

Dr. Shindle's research interests are primarily devoted to rotator cuff repair, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, distals biceps repair, articular cartilage injuries, and sports foot and ankle injuries. He is the coauthor of articles, abstracts, and book chapters on these and related topics, some of which are published in prestigious, peer-reviewed …scientific journals such as Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, American Journal of Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopy.

Dr. Shindle has delivered more than 60 local, regional, national, and international invited presentations in his field. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic Association of North America, American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, among others.

Dr. Shindle is a native of Madison, New Jersey, where he lives with his family.

I was just informed dr shindle is no longer at summit had appts. Scheduled for knee injections. Best dr so caring has preformed 2 knee surgeries for me kept me running. I’m devastated I can not stay in his amazing care.

Nothing but good things to say - excellent and quick diagnosis of my shoulder issue, prompt schedule for rotator-cuff repair surgery, excellent results post-surgery. All of my visits have been to the Florham Park office - for all 4 visits I was taken within 5 minutes of my appointment time and never had a wait or felt rushed when he was seeing me. Good post-surgery care including excellent recommendation for physical therapy. I'd highly recommend him.

Dr. Shindle is fantastic. Had surgery on my shoulder w/success. Now going for knee issue. Would highly recommend.

Felt rushed through all of my 2 appointments. Diagnosed me with cracked cartilage

Dr. Shindle has repeatedly kept us waiting for more than 45 mins and even over an hour, even when we have chosen the first appointment of the day. This shows such a lack of respect for his patients that I find it mind boggling that he has not made changes. I spoke to him about this, he apologizes but also said that he is always over booked. I think it might be less troubling if he spent some time with us, but he is always rushing to the next patient. We went back to hospital for Special Surgery in NY, they have the true top docs in the country and there is never a wait. It takes less time to get there then spent sitting in Shindles waiting room.
