Dr. Michael R Stohle, MD

Dr. Stohle was incredibly rude and had no patience whatsoever. I was to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth out and am very anxious about it. During the consultation, I was told that this should not be a problem and that he understands. I was then prescribed a pill to take before going in, which I had never been told about. On the day of, I got to the office 5 minutes early and I was rushed into the office and told to go into a room as though I was very late. When they realized they had forgotten to have me sign the consent form while I was in the waiting room, I looked over the form, and started to have a panic attack. The staff then said she would give me a couple of minutes to cool down, but then came back with Dr. Stohle 30 seconds later. I was then told by Dr. Stohle that I was "too old to be acting like this" and that he had "other patients to take care of." This angered my boyfriend and I greatly and we decided to leave after this interaction. I am in college and still on my parent's… health insurance. Dr. Stohle was anything but polite when my parents who are in charge of the insurance were not around. He has no patience or empathy for his patients.

With enough anesthesia in your gum and lip, you don't know what's going on until you are up and around. I knew this was a difficult extraction but I know this DDS and I trusted him. Here I am, 6 days later, and it still hurts, still bleeds, and the inside of my cheek is chewed up. I think he could have been neater and gentler.

Dr. Stohle tried to up-sell me what turned out to be an unnecessary surgery whilst at a simple exam visit. "It's probably nothing but it could be cancer and I can remove it now in 10 minutes and you won't have to reschedule." When I asked exactly what my out-of-pocket would be, he asked to see my insurance card, handed it to one of his staff to check, 5 minutes later, she returned, said it was covered all but $55 and that I would save the additional $55 copay by doing it all now in one visit. I asked, "I have your word that all but $55 is covered. He said, "Yes, absolutely!" and we proceeded to remove the "nothing...that could be CANCER." After the 10 minute operation, I was shuttled to the front desk to pay in full and "the insurance company will reimburse you by sending you a check, directly." When I explained that was not what i was told before approving the up-sell. I was told, that's not how they do things at this location. I spoke with the doctor and agreed to pay 70% of the bill… upfront. Later, i learned that they had never called t check and that the whole up-sell was a charade and was never reimbursed, as promised by Dr. Michael Stohle. He avoided letters, calls and visits to speak with him in-person and refused to settle the account. He sent me to collections! Re-Classification: Used Car Salesman Michael Stohle.
