Dr. Michael Anthony Sylva, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Sylva for the past 12 years. I appreciate that he values my time as much as I value his. I cannot remember a time that I had to wait in his waiting room for more than 5 minutes to be brought back for vitals. Once the vitals are complete, Dr. Sylva comes in the room within 2 minutes. His exam is always thorough and so much so that I often comment about it. His staff is friendly and they have always accommodated me when I have needed a same day appointment, however I don’t ask that often. My overall experience with Dr. Sylva has been excellent and that is why I often refer patients to him.

My daughter was having some medical issues and tried calling her Doctor after hours after getting off work,They put her through to the Doc on call Dr Sylva.... After listening to her explain what was going on with her he told her to call her doctor tomorrow!!!Why did he even call her back?Why is he on call? Healthcare isn't what it used to be!!! He should have saved that phone call or maybe he didn't know as much as he pretends to!!!!

I had seen him as a primary for yrs. I felt like he never really listened to my problem health issue. The final straw was when I had been sick and on antibiotics for 3 days. I was at the pint I could not eat or drink and he could not see me until the following week. I have never heard of a primary acting like this. I will by return. I am in the medical field and am disgusted. His offices aged is anything but pleasant to deal with. Everything appears to be a burden !

I was a patient of Dr. Sylva for several years. He was personable and spent time with each patient. The problem was that he always insisted on "follow up" appointments for no real reason (perhaps it was good for his bottom line?). It was difficult to get off work every month for the so called needed follow up. If I was 5 min late he would say I "missed" my appointment and charge me $20 cash and then reschedule me for the next day which was wide open for appointments. The last straw was that I was prescribed a medication that wasn't able to be refilled- it could only be filled one month at a time even when he would write a three month prescription. I explained this to him several times- he accused me of misuse. So I had him call the pharmacy for verification. They informed him that I was correct. After that I found a new doctor and I only need one appointment per year instead of a follow up each month and she has no problem writing a new prescription each month. Well Dr. Sylva... I… guess I'm not the one with the problem.

This is one of the most disrespectful people I have every had to talk to on the phone. That is your job. I am not an inconvenience am I? I will be taking my health needs elsewhere. Then you brought up narcotics and accused someone of asking for them. Noone mentioned narcotics or pain medication but you. Paranoid? Get your life together. I asked for over-the-counter suggestions and an appointment. Where is the "do no harm?" You obviously don't care about your patients or your colleages patients. Of course, your practice won't suffer, but eventually you will... when that attitude catches up with you. Doctor!! You suck!

I started seeing Dr Sylva as a recommendation from a friend, also my mother sees him as well. I would recommend him to everyone looking for a new doctor. He is personable, cares, just not one of those turnstyle offices where you go in and out and they do not care who you are you are just a number and money!
