Dr. Michael Walter Varner, MD

Michael W. Varner, MD joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1987 and currently serves as Professor and Vice-Chair for Research. He developed the Obstetrics and Gynecology Research Network, a consortium of over 50 research personnel who conduct and administer the many clinical trial networks - both obstetric and gynecologic - in which the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department participates. His major interest lies in clinical trials and research administration. In addition to his Departmental obligations he is the Co-Director of the Clinical Genetics Institute and Director of Perinatal Research for Intermountain Healthcare, the Associate Director for Women's Health Research of the University's Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences (CTSA), the Co-Director of the University's Institute for Women's and Children's Health Research, and the Interim Director of the University's Personalized Healthcare Program.
