Dr. Michele L Gero, MD

I received a letter recently stating Dr Gero will be leaving the North Port office and moving to a different practice in Venice. I am so sorry to see her go. She has been a wonderful caring and attentive Dr. I'm more than willing to travel to Venice to see her but unfortunately her new practice does not accept my insurance. I will be seeing if I can change insurances to keep her as my Physician.

If I could give 10 stars, I would! Dr. Gero is the most caring, down-to-earth physician I have ever had the pleasure of having a relationship with. She spends as much time with you as you need and makes you feel like you are her only patient that she is seeing for the day. She truly cares and listens to you. She does not shut down any concern as being "silly." She really takes the time to understand you as a person so she can provide you with the best medical care that she can. I am truly lucky to have found such a fantastic physician that I can trust with my life. I am not sure who wrote the review on May 31, 2018, but I am positive it could not have been the same Dr. Gero that I see!

really tried to make excuses for her bad behavior and how uncaring and cold she can be , read a few good reviews and i'm wondering WHO??? they saw certainly not the Dr,. Gero I've seen, by the way I've been a patient around 8 yrs. Not anymore.

I called my daughter's insurance to change her from her Pediatric doctor to someone who takes care of young adults, She was assigned this doctor and can't get seen until mid February 2018 or later, It is Currently September 2017 unreal! I took my daughter to the ER and from there my daughter was admitted to hospital recently and needs a follow up and second surgery and still can't be seen, I feel it is discriminating. I called and spoke to a employee was told to come down and fill papers out that the ARPN would see my daughter nd then another employee said no and removed us from the schedule.

Went to Dr. Went to Dr. Gero when I came down with Bronchitis which I have a history of every year or more. Normally I have to have her put me on Prednisone plus other medication but due to the fact I was having surgery a few days later she could not give me the prednisone. 3 days after surgery (Friday) I called her office and told her front desk to have her call or her nurse to call me as I was having difficulty breathing. Had no response so called back on Monday late morning and got there answering machine which happens 90% of the time. Left another message. Again no response by mid Tues. morning, so called again and was lucky to get a real person. While talking to them they hung up on me. So, called back and spoke to the office manager who informed me that she no longer wanted me as one of her patients. I had been going to her for over 3 years and she knew my condition very well.

I never feel rushed during the visit. She listens to all my concerns and answers any questions I have. She explains things until she feels I understand.

I would recommend Dr Gero. She is caring and interested in your opinion. She listens to my thoughts and answers my questions. Great bedside manner. She has never disappointed me, and when looking for a specialist will help me find the right one for me.
