Dr. Michelle Beloff, DO

First time with this Dr for my annual exam. She tells me everything feels great, both ovaries feel good. REALLY? That's odd cause I only have 1! I had major surgery - it was all detailed in my file. Maybe she should have opened it.

Dr. Beloff is a nice person, but the practice is run terribly, and you barely have any contact with the doctors. They almost never remembered when I needed certain blood tests, and if I didn't advocate for myself I wouldn't have gotten proper care during my pregnancy. When I wanted an IUD, waited for over five weeks, and they refused to order one for me because it was covered (100%) on my medical plan, but not my prescription plan. They have strict policies and care more about following their exact policies than about their patients. No one from the office follows up on anything and you have to chase them for answers.

My baby hasn't been delivered yet, but my experience so far has been terrible. The whole practice is structured so that you get as little face-time with the doctor as possible. You wait a minumum of 30 minutes every time to be seen, the doctor rushes, and if you have questions afterwards you have to call a nurse and leave a message and often they don't get back to you for at least 24 hours. I had a transvaginal ultrasound performed by a trainee (without me being asked permission) who had no idea what she was doing and it was very painful and violating. The practice forgot that I needed Rhogam and I have a thyroid condition requiring frequent monitoring, and if I didn't constantly remind them of these things, the doctor wouldn't have done it.

Dr. Beloff seemed really great up until the week I was due to give birth. All the sudden I was told I had a "big baby" and she wanted to do a c-section. Apparently once they estimate the baby's weight at 9 lbs they believe it's too dangerous to delivery vaginally. They did several growth scans in the weeks prior to this and never mentioned a word about his size being a problem. Thankfully I had a great support (a doula and very understanding family) and I refused to get a c-section. Thankfully I went into labor and as it turned out my son was 8 lbs 10 oz.

This doctor was too quick when examining me in the hospital. Quickly let me go home and ended up with emergency sugery and a life threatening condition.

The staff is OK but the Doctors make you wait forever just to have a 5 minute visit. After sitting in the waiting room for 45 minutes and then the actual exam room for 45 minutes, I got dressed walked out and saw that my OB was eating cookies and laughing with the nurses. She said she didn't know I was in the exam room waiting. I switched to a different practice since this was not the first time I had to wait so long.

dr. beloff gave the impression that she couldn't be bothered. the staff called me after the appointment and said the doctor wanted to see me. When I came at the appointed time, they said they had no appointment and no one had called me. When I asked for any paperwork from the visit, i met with resistence. I would not consider this doctor again.

Someone should tell this Dr. that calling back patients is not a courtesy but their job!!!!!!

have been a patient at Fair Lawn Women's Health Group for many years. I recently called to make an appointment because I noticed a lump under my arm. The soonest they could see me was a week and a half, and it was like pulling teeth to get this appointment. I was also told that they have no evening or weekend hours, so I need to take a day off work to see someone. Really disappointing. They have six doctors in this group and you can't tell me that they couldn't provide a more flexible schedule for their patients. They obviously care more about their personal time than their patients. I'll be looking for a new OBGYN.
