Michelle Y Chiu, MD

Dr. Chiu is a pediatric epileptologist at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, where she is the Director of Pediatric Epilepsy Research and Director of the Pediatric Neuromodulation Clinic. She sees patients on the hospital’s campus in St. Petersburg, Florida, and joined the medical staff in 2026. She specializes in the care of children with drug-resistant epilepsy, with particular expertise in epilepsy surgery and neuromodulation therapies including responsive neurostimulation, deep brain stimulation, and vagus nerve stimulation.

She is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She was previously a pediatric epileptologist at Boston Children’s Hospital and Instructor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School. She has authored peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters in pediatric epilepsy.

Dr. Chiu earned her medical degree at the University of British Columbia, where she also completed pediatric neurology …residency and served as chief resident. She then completed clinical epilepsy and epilepsy surgery fellowships at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
