Dr. Michelle Cohen, PhD

I have seen various psychologists for my anxiety off and on for about ten years. Dr. Cohen is, without a doubt, the best! I have been with her for the last three years. Not only has she been compassionate, patient and understanding, she has given me insight as to why I have such anxiety. Dr. Cohen has also provided many tools to help me manage my physical and emotional anxiety. She has changed my life to where I no longer have panic attacks and I have many more positive feelings about my life and future. Dr. Cohen helped me resolve so many issues. I think I will always go back to her, for future "check ins."

I have been a patient of Dr. Michelle Cohen's for the last five months and I can truly say she has been the most helpful, compassionate and caring therapist I have ever met. For the last six years I have suffered from depression and trauma. Dr. Cohen has been the only psychologist that I feel I can really trust. She actually helped me better understand my issues and has clearly communicated tools to help me get to the root of and resolve many of of my problems. Dr. Cohen never makes me wait and has actuallly given me extra time, if available, without charging me. She has assisted me in living a happier and healthier lifestyle.

I have been seeing Dr. Michelle for about seven months, and have found her to be compassionate, caring and excellent in helping me work through my family issues. She uses CBT and has helped me work through pain from my family problems. She has also helped me understand why I feel the way I do with current relationships. Dr. Michelle gets 5 stars for being extremely knowledgeable and caring about people.

I probably had about a dozen appointments with Dr. Cohen. I could point out trivial things I didn't like (rarely seen on time, being called "honey" all the time, etc.), but the more I went to her, the more my therapy sessions became her telling me about her family life and background. I don't want to go into specifics, but I was having issues with my family, and she told me all about her marriage and her in-laws and what happened when she was my age, etc, etc. She kept interrupting me as I was trying to find the words to express how I was feeling. I ended my final session with her when she told me I said something about a family member (classifying them in a really negative light) when I didn't. It was very clear to me that she only casually paid attention to what I was saying and feeling - it felt like she couldn't wait to tell me about HER family. Honestly, she's the type of therapist that makes you NEED to seek out therapy just to get over the frustration and anger from leaving one… of her sessions.
