Testing children is different from testing lab rats. My husband & I took 3 unpaid days off of work so our child could be tested. What a complete waste of time! They test your child in a medical room for hours with barely any breaks & the testing is not child friendly. It’s like having a 2 year old take a 5th grade standardized test. Then they will write that your child was not attentive. Well, who would be. On one of the tasks, they didn’t even give our special needs, language delayed child more than 2 seconds to process the direction. The woman giving the test, was not the person who wrote the report & was slso not Ms. Loman. The woman working with Ms. Loman had horrible bedside msnner & was rude to both myself & my child & had zero patience. They have you fill out tons of rsting scales for older children, which mostly include questions about how your 6 year old performs at work. None of the questions are appropriate & it’s a waste of time. The end result was getting a 6… page report listing all of our child’s deficients, which we already know, and then telling us to continue to work on the items that we are already working on. No new information. No strategies, causes, or solutions. And the best part is they claim that this series of tests, which were completed in a one day period, are a true picture of our child’s cognitive functioning. I could keep going, but I’ll stop here! Do not waste your time or your money! Have your child evaluated by the diagnostic team at your child’s school district or by the Birth to three program! They will do a much better job with kindness and understanding!
