Dr. Michelle Ann Smith, MD

My name is Terri Graham dr. I am a former patient of dr. Michelle Smith. She done open brain surgery on me. A aneurysm clipping. My sinus cavity where improperly cut which cause my sinuses to go up in my brain, instead of coming out of my nose. Gave me a terrible brain infection. And all the while it was leaking out of the side of my head. Dr. Smith pretended not to know what was going on even after a CT scan. She stalled me for two years until the statue of limitations of malpractice was up. Then moved and changed her practice all together.

Excellent diagnostician... Found something both I and another doc missed during an exam, so she had to give me bad news. She was so calming and reassuring despite the fact that I was going to need to move on to a specialist and have surgery. Would follow her no matter what business decisions she's forced to make.

Dr Smith is an exceptionally caring and thorough physician. She spends so much time with me answering my every question and discussing all my concerns (and I have many). I am so happy to have her as my Doctor.

Dr. Smith always gave me an adequate amount of time and strove to communicate with me clearly. I never had a problem getting an appointment and if there was ever a more pressing issue, her registered nurse would see you as well.I went to Dr. Smith from the ages of 22-26. In that time I complained of serious back pain, muscle spasm, inability to sleep, visual issues, abdominal irregularity, headaches, facial pain & a unexplained rashes. With each incident, she did tests and sent me to a lot of specialists. Aside from the gastroenterologist who diagnosed me with IBS, all of my tests came back normal. She sent me to physical therapy to help with my back spasms. After going for 6 months without any relief, I had to literally fight with her to give me a referral to a chiropractor. She informed me that cracking wasn't going to do me any good. Therein lies the problem with Dr. Smith. Dr. Smith failed to diagnose me with Fibromyalgia because, I suspect she doesn't believe in it as she… does not believe in chiropractics. It was through chiropractic treatment and their referring me to another family doctor and then a rheumatologist that my condition was finally diagnosed. Unfortunately, I spent 10 years dealing with debilitating pain. On top of that, I worsened my condition because I was unaware of it. I continued to run, spin, tile floors etc. All things that a person with Fibromyalgia should avoid. If Dr. Smith had properly diagnosed me, I would be in a much better physical position then I am today.Do I think she's a decent doctor, yes. Just make sure you ask for a second opinion.
