Outstanding bedside manners. Explained everything in a way that we understood. He even draws to explain things

I was going to Rockwood O.B.G.Y.N for my prenatal care, and was referred to him by my doctor. I had a abnormal pap smear, H.P.V. at 4 months pregnant. He's very cool, way gentle, not just there to get his job done and out. He explains everything to you, he's really a very good doctor. I would disregard one of the statements in one of the reviews stating about how she felt uncomfortable b/c he called her honey or whatever, that's just Dr. Bermeo's personality. I remember I said something to my mom my very first visit, something like how embarrassing (H.P.V) ;) Watch mom, he's gonna be cute. And the door opens BAM!!!! I found him to be gorgeous, so of course an attractive doctor looking at your ya-hoo;) would be uncomfortable. Um, I suppose the down to him would be, he's so busy that you can't squeeze in if it's an emergency. Other then that excellent doctor.

I was referred to Dr Bermeo by my OB who had cared for me during my previous 6 pregnancies. My doctor was retiring and wouldn't be able to continue my care for this pregnancy. I was very nervous because I loved my doctor and was very sad to see him go. I didn't think anyone would be as good....I saw Dr Bermeo in his office at 20 weeks when I was experiencing pre term labor. He promptly admitted me and began managing my pregnancy. My pregnancy was extremely high risk and his knowledge and experience was obvious. I spent 10 weeks in the hospital on bed rest and experienced numerous complications and issues before delivering my baby 10 weeks early.He was diligent to research and try to figure out WHY I was having the issues I was. He spent many hours talking to other doctors around the country after hours and I was impressed with his dedication. At one point I had a very rare, life threatening reaction to a medication that I was being given to stop the contractions. Dr Bermeo was… on call and I am convinced that he saved my life and the life of my baby. Before he got there the doctors and nurses struggled to figure out what was wrong with me. He took over and figured out the problem and was then able to treat it, saving me and my baby. He is as he says "brutally honest" but I appreciated that and enjoyed his sense of humor and his ability to give me the facts but keep me at ease. During my time in the hospital I looked forward to the days when he was on call because he always took the time to sit and chat and make me laugh and many times checked in on me after rounds had been made just because he cares. I don't think that he is for everyone, if you are up tight and want a doctor who is up tight as well then Dr Bermeo is NOT for you. BUT if you want someone who cares genuinely for his patients and wants the best for them BUT is willing to tell them the truth then he is the doctor for you!! I am so thankful to him for his high level of care and will continue to go to him for all of my OB/GYN needs!

I have never met Dr. Bermeo, I did some research and I got to this website after my Primary care Doctor referred me to him due to excessive vaginal bleeding. I have to be honest; It is NOT fair to hide behind a comment, but after reading some of the reviews, I got scared.The minute We met him, we knew he was an awesome person and physician, he introduced himself and gave us a little info about him, then he was akin pertinent questions and He explained everything in such a way that me and my husband understood everything. He answered all of our questions and did not see his watch while with us. I underwent a Hysterectomy, his surgical skills are great because I feel amazing and am back to work in 6 weeks.I can only thank Dr. Bermeo for being "brutally" honest and for THAT familiarity that made us feel so welcome and cared for.

My Ob retired and Dr. Bermeo did a follow up from a previous surgery. He acted waaaayyy too familiar with me, calling me honey and with an inappropriate level of intimacy for a doctor, in my opinion. I was extremely uncomfortable throughout the discussion and exam and will not return.

Had a very complicated pregnancy; a high risk pregnancy he told me; in my own country I was told not to become pregnant.My spoken english is no good, I am back home with a baby boy in my arms.Thank you Dr. Bermeo

I am just starting the second trimester of my second pregnancy. He was the most patronizing, rude, ignorant doctor I've ever met. I swelled horridly with my first pregnancy by the time I started my second trimester and am having the same problems already with this pregnancy. I am carrying extra weight from my first pregnancy still. He told me that he wouldn't write me a prescription for compression tights, that I'm just swelling because I'm overweight, and I just needed to drink enough fluid and put my feet up for ten minutes. Then he brushed me off when I told him that I was not overweight with my first pregnancy and spent six months 'off' my feet and elevating them every night, and that I didn't eat salt and drank over a gallon of water daily. He just smuggly chuckled...this guy is pompous!!!! Don't see him if you can avoid it. He thinks he's God's gift to the practice of OB/GYN when really he's just a fool wearing a white coat.
