Dr. Miguel Antonio Schmitz, MD

The absolute worst doctor I’ve ever encountered and Alpine Orthopedic the worst doctors office. This doctor should be in prison and that office is not fit to care for the public. It was their MRI’s that found my torn labrum, they stole several months of my life for a surgery I told them I could never afford to do again, clearly they only care about money with no concern for their patients health! Multiple orthopedic surgeons since have said they don’t know how he could have missed my torn labrum during surgery, this was the main reason I got surgery. They also convinced me to let them take all of the cartilage at the end of my clavicle, I told them that didn’t seem like a good idea and these demons told me to trust them. I had many emails and calls with the office manager who told me that they believe their patients are too stupid to understand the surgery report so they normally don’t freely give it to anyone including my physical therapist who had to fight for almost two months to… get the surgery report so we could know exactly what they did to me. This office knew what they did was extremely wrong and that’s why they did everything they could to protect themselves including forsaking a patient’s medical needs by withholding the patients medical records for as long as these demons could. I was not allowed to know what they did to me for nearly two months, severely delaying my physical therapy! Turns out he did not repair my labrum because he said he couldn’t find it, wow, instead they just took my cartilage leaving my clavicle with nothing at all to hold it in place at the end, an incredibly mindless thing to do. This office complained to me about being overbooked like that’s something I should care about. These criminals deserve to be in prison but, still have faced no consequence for their prideful evil!

Very dissatisfied with the care and compassion. A waste of our time. We went to this doctor twice for my husband's knees. My husband is disabled. First visit the Dr was running late (over an hour) and he didnt see us until his office was about to close. He spent roughly 5 minutes with us and never really listen to anything that we said. You could see that he wanted to close and we were just in his way. The second time we had an appointment we sat in a room for about 50 minutes after our appointment time without even being seen (or even acknowledged that we were there). We finally got up to leave and told his nurse that we had other appointments. The nurse said it should be a soon, but he didn't know for sure how long. We received a phone call from his office at 9pm that night. That was absurd. He is now charging the taxpayers for his lack of compassion and scheduling abilities. I suggest only seeing this doctor if you like to sit around for hours waiting for someone who doesn't give… you the time of day.

Dr. Schmitz is very informative and makes sure he answers every question before surgery. He presented me with more than one option and left it up to me. I felt very comfortable signing the consent form which allowed him to explore to what degree of a procedure he felt I needed and to proceed while I remained under sedation. He didn't do any more than he felt was necessary. I will seek him out for any future surgeries needed within his field of expertise.

I experienced pain for quite a while I was only able to go up a stair with my left leg leading , as my right leg had been so much weaker. Eventually it led to 3 emergency room visits , which led me to Dr. Miguel Schmitz. I was shown my injury which, was too long overlooked. I went through 4 procedures at one time , A Discectomy a Laminectomy a Fusion of my 4 and 5 Lumbar and a cage that gives much greater results. I can tell you that my results have been remarkable, as I had been bedridden for 4 months and was out of my mind with pain. At 2 months post surgery I am overwhelmed with gratitude for Dr. Schmitz and his remarkable staff for giving me my life back. Physical therapy is getting me in shape and I will continue that at home. I am 63 and a farm wife and a plant nursery owner, and, I can be able to be strong again. Thanks again, Maryleslie Michael

HE HAS SEVERE OCD, HE IS CONFRONTATIONAL, WILL SCREAM IN YOUR FACE AND NOT ACKNOWLEDE YOU AS A PATIENT. His severe OCD can have severe consequences BE WARNED.

Dr Schmitz and Dr Saunders were very good at explaining the process and getting me through the surgery and physical therapy. I wish I would've known them in different circumstances and not my knee injury. I would definitely recommend alpine orthopedic and spine to anyone who needs a body part repaired.

I consider myself a well educated consumer doing a lot of research before making any buying decisions. I also do not do reviews unless I feel strongly about a subject or product. I have been a healthcare professional for well over 30 years specializing in Orthopaedics. I am well versed in all aspects of Orthopaedic surgery and the associated clinical modalities. I also have a degenerating lumbar spine that will require surgical stabilization in the foreseeable future. I have been reluctant to admit this, however, the timeline and disability are at a critical crossroad. That being said, I have chosen Dr. Miguel A. Schmitz and his team to join my personal effort to obtain the best possible care available in dealing with long term spinal stabilization. This decision was well thought out and the level of trust is without question. mdm
