Dr. Mike Minh Nguyen, MD

STAY AWAY. If I could give zero stars, I would. Dr Nguyen is a nice guy, but I didn't even see him until the Physician's assistant completed the examination. To make matters worse, I was sent to his lab for blood work. Had I known it wasn't covered by my insurance and I would have to pay $60, I would have gone to Quest. The greatest insult was getting charged over $1000 for a routine exam. This included a $788 charge for "Operating Room Services." I was no where near an Operating room. When I called about the bill, the staff was rude and said they are sending me to collections.

Had a bad experience at this teaching institute and wonder if resident did the surgery. Dr is not honest and protects other doctors. Not thorough in studying old records before operating. Regret obtaining care at Keck USC ...there is no ER there to handle problems. Most emergent problems are sent to ERs in other hospitals after surgery and the patient is dumped there with Drs that do not know what happen at surgery and admitted to a team of Hospitalists that are lost to how to provide urologic care. Medical mistakes are covered up by extreme measures by the USC system and this doctor. Ethics of USC medical system is scary from the medical Dean, president and their doctors.

Dr. Nguyen is a very knowledgeable, professional, and genuine doctor. His experience shows immediately. I was thankful to have such a great doctor perform surgery to remove a kidney stone. Prior to my surgery, Dr. Nguyen carefully sat down with me to listen to my unfortunate experience in developing a kidney stone and explained every option (including pros and cons of each one) to treat the kidney stone. He truly cares about his patients and goes the extra mile to assure he can answer critical questions. I would without a doubt recommend him to family or friends in need of urology care.

I have been very happy with my Care at USC Norris Cancer Hospital and with Dr Nguyen. If any of my friends run into the same issues that I have had I would be very willing to let them know that Dr. Nguyen would be a great resource to work with...
