Dr. Mikhail Zelfman, DO

Dr. Zelfman is an outstanding physician. He saw me in the hospital and truly saved my life. He’s deeply knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely kind. I felt heard, cared for, and safe under his care. I’m incredibly grateful.

My mother was admitted to the hospital. She has a significant medical history. Unfortunately for us, Dr. Zelfman was our primary admitting doctor. To be honest, this ‘doctor’ was someone that came to the room and was mistaken by myself and my mother to be the janitor or someone who works in the hospital in a non medical role. He was disheveled, slurred speech, made his visit quickly and barely explained to us what was going on. I’m glad I was there to stop him and ask questions. I worry that others who aren’t so lucky to have loved ones in the hospital and are on their own will be treated by this person. I tried calling Broward General Hospital to make a complaint or comment and they have also been impossible to contact. If you are stuck with this ‘doctor’ please run. Ask for someone else. I worry for current and future patients. Even one of our nurses made the comment of what a piece of work this person was. Please avoid!

Horrible demeanor and communication skills.

He misdiagnosed my mother in the hospital. The other doctors who saw her were embarrassed and apologetic that Dr. Zelfman even works at Broward Health Medical Center. I don't understand why they keep him on staff. Horrible experience.

Horrible man

I gave him 1 star because 0 star was not an option. I was assigned this person in the ER at Broward General. This guy clearly does not care about you. All he cares about is his paycheck and whatever else he does on his phone whenever he came to see me for all of 2 seconds per day. Some days he didn't even examen me. Nurses could never reach him either. After several days of this guy another doctor took over and actually took care of me.

Was on trip a while ago and became sick. Was taken to Broward Hospital by ambulance and was assigned this doctor. Horrible experience. He couldn't care less about me or my health. Didn't coordinate care with my cardiologist and tried to discharge me before the cardiologist cleared me. Needed further interventions. Was lucky to have a good cardiologist because I think this guy would have caused serious harm.

My interaction with Dr. Zelfman was in a hospital after having had surgery. He was disdainful and hostile. I would never recommend using him.
