Dr. Mimi M. Dang

I had a stroke 18 months ago. Went to Memorial Hermann Southwest ER and was admitted. My ECG showed that I had premature ventricular contractions, but Dr. Dang did not tell me this. I am still upset that she failed to provide me with this important information.

Dr. Dang was recommended to us by my mother’s endocrinologist, and he couldn’t have picked a better neurologist for our family. Dr. Dang took the time to listen to everyone’s perspective. She was open-minded, and she was very thorough. Dr. Dang made some excellent recommendations, we learned about program that we were previously unaware of, and we felt that Dr. Dang took the time to understand each of our perspectives about our family member’s illness. Dr. Dang’s staff was very thorough, and they made sure that we were aware of the next steps that we needed to take. All and all, we were impressed.

Very bad customer/patient relationship. It took over 4 days to make an appointment (caused by the primary provider's referral letter was misplaced by the staff). The female receptionist did not want to verify with the primary provider of the medical language in the letter, she wanted the patient with no knowledge about the medical term to do her job! No treatment was needed with this doctor office anymore. The staff needs to be re-train for better customer services.

I'm glad I went with mother this year to her annual Alzheimer evaluation appointment with Dr. Dang. After waiting in the examining room for over 2 hours, being questioned by a research assistant with such a heavy accent I ( who does not suffer from dementia or hearing impairment) could'nt even follow her directions and questions, Dr. Dang breezed in completely unprepared and unfamiliar with my mother's case. She asked questions she should have known had she spent 5 minutes looking at her chart. Very impersonal and haphazard about the 7 page report she was there to review. She became appearently irritated when I asked questions. The final straw came when the Dr. prescribed a starting dose of a new medication which was 3x what was safe sending my already weak mother into convulsions and hallucinations! I don't want anyone else to experience the horror we experienced with this miserable doctor.
