Dr. Herbert Paine Edmundson JR., MD

It is not my goal to continue a fight that is already over but people considering this practice should be aware of our experience. I went to Dr. Edmondson on a friend’s advice. She likes him and says he gave her good care. There are clearly people for whom he is a good match. But it was not so for me. Both the doctor and the staff are from the “shut up and do what we tell you if you want to get well” school of medical care. Any time I asked why a procedure or a rule was the way it was, the only answer was “because that’s how we do it.” Again, this approach is good for some patients—it can be reassuring to some—but understanding the reasons for rules and actions is necessary for me. It was made clear to me on my first visit that if I did not wish to follow every policy without question that I was welcome to find a different doctor. It was my fault for not taking his advice at that moment and walking out the door. Instead I completed that visit and one more which was a waste of… my time and his. Because I pushed back against the “do what we say without question” reasoning, I was told that I was hostile. Because I refused to sign paperwork giving them permission to bill my credit card a service fee each time I got a refill, I was again told how hostile I was. Because I insisted that some of the data they collected was wrong (long story) I was asked not to return. Clearly we were not a good match.

Dr. Edmonson is a well educated, knowledgeable and thorough physician. He is someone you want to manage your health. I have been a patient of Dr. Edmonson for 10 years. He is extremely knowledgeable and stays current with evidence based medicine and practices, and those are qualities I want in a physician managing my health and well being. Dr. Edmonson cares and looks at the whole big picture of your health; he performs a thorough exam and provides the highest quality care for the best outcomes. He is compassionate and educates you to ensure you understand everything about your care. Thank you Dr. Edmonson for your service and God Bless you! You are the best!

Dr. Edmundson is caring compassionate and truly takes time to listen. He asks thoughtful questions and is a wonderful doctor. I would highly recommend him to anyone because I know he provides a high level of care to his patients. He is intuitive and thoughtful and overall a wonderful physician. He asks thoughtful and thoughtful-provoking questions to help treat the underlying concerns not just surface level care. I drive 2 hours to see him because I think he’s an excellent physician and he has truly helped treat me.

Both my twin sister and I started seeing Dr. Edmundson after we spoke to a couple friends who have been going to him for years and spoke highly of him. It is hard initially getting ahold of the office in order to book an appointment and they do not have a way to send an email online regarding an appointment/ or questions you have until you’ve seen the doctor and are able to set up the patient portal. 5 stars because, despite the difficulties w the appointment process and getting ahold of them, the staff has always been pleasant to speak to and helpful with any issues. I no called no showed to an appointment and the staff were nice about it and doctor was willing to see me again... (Sorry about that) So if you’re someone who checks out the reviews on a place before you make an appointment this is for you! Dr. Edmundson is genuine, ridiculously knowledgeable, and never hesitate to take the time and really understand what’s going on what your needs are and what he can do best to help… you. Fair warning- the dude is one of, if not THE, smartest person I’ve ever met. You may feel dumb or a little awkward initially for that first appointment (I did lol) but it’s because the dudes literally a genius. Don’t worry about it! I want to end this review by adding he doesn’t only Specialize in helping adults with ADD, He primarily specializes in back pain neurology headaches and seizures. So if you’re thinking about booking your first appointment for any of these reasons I’ve listed above, do it!

Yes, he is brisk. Yes, he runs behind. Yes, he is a bit pompous. But yes, he is pretty brilliant. I went in because I was shaking and wanted to get checked out. Diagnosed me with ADD and anxiety. By controlling the ADD and the racing thoughts it has greatly diminished my anxiety. Baby steps for me.

Let me start by saying, it’s the worst experience we had with a doctor EVER. The appointment took too long to complete, but that is far from being the worst thing. The appointment was for my wife and she didn’t speak English very well, so I always help her. He walked in and didn’t say hello, he told me that doesn’t want me to speak at this point. I didn’t like that, but I thought he wanted to her from. But, I quickly discovered that he is very rude and careless. I stood up to see what’s he is doing. He got upset, he asked me to sit down (I felt like a first grade student) I refused and confronted him head on and refused to sit down. I told him “you are rude”. I asked him about the results of the test, he said “in due time”. I have let his nurse know how I feel about him. Don’t go to this place at all.

Was referred to Dr. Edmunson by my PCP and told to get some tests done which I took both. Yes some of the wait times were a little longer then expected but what doctors office isn’t ?? Anyways man listened to me and asked questions and I gave answers and I was able to ask plenty of questions and give plenty of answers. Every time I used to the patient portal I was contacted back almost immediately guess I’m just a lucky patient reading all these terrible reviews ...

Our experience with the dr was excellent He let us know right at first what he wanted from us & after the visit we understood why. He asks the questions & then tells us what is going on with our body. Very good at explaining everything & we appreciate that so much Thank you dr edmondson?? Kathy & Elbert hohmann

We have used Dr. Edmundson for about 6 years. He is the best Neurologist we have found. He only interacts directly with the patient. This is the best way to evaluate, diagnose and treat the individual. So if you are a family member, understand you may not be allowed in the exam room. If you are allowed (this is rare), you will not be allowed to answer for the patient and you must save your questions or comments until the very end of the evaluation or visit. Just sit quietly and watch and you will understand his methods are the best for the patient. My husband's successful recovery is due in large part to Dr. Edmundson and we are grateful for his care.

This man has no respect of patient time. The very first visit mind you is what you would expect. Very prompt and courteous. The second visit my wife and 2 children waited 1.5 hr only to do a 30 min test then wait another hour for Dr Edmundson to talk to. He was very rude and rushing them out of the office because by then it was 630 and he seemed like he wanted to go home. Mind you the original appt was at 3:30 pm after the kids got out of school. So you can imagine everyone was hungry and tired. He then spoke to my wife as if she was not important when she was asking questions towards my child's diagnosis. You would think as a concerned parent he would be more attentive. The 3rd visit was the same. 1.5 hr wait and still just as rude as the second visit. You would think for the money you are spending and your insurance as well they would be more professional. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. Also my wife attempted to communicate through the patient portal to which she did not get answers back to… multiple requests. The staff and the Dr himself tried to tell her she was doing it wrong. I saw myself where her sent items were directed to his office.
