Dr. Miriam Mackovic-Basic, MD

Hysterectomy in 2015, Horrific Surgery and Terrible pain after. Surgery from Dr.Mackovic, I have had two more surgeries since to correct and fix what happened from original surgery. Still in pain and discomfort. Definitely given false hope of feeling better after Hysterectomy. Now nothing but pain and trying to live life in constant reminder of botched healthcare.

I would be the one writing the review how she was the best doctor in the world ! So nice, caring etc. She had been my doctor for over 15yrs, I trusted ever word she said. She has a way of being very sweet in a harsh way if you question her advice. My mistake not getting a second opinion . She said after recommending a hysterectomy, very harshly “you can get a second opinion if you want” biggest mistake I ever made was not getting that second opinion. I recommended her to my sister years ago. My sister told me she recommended a hysterectomy to her for no reason. Saying to her she didn’t need any of that any more and a bladder sling. My sister felt she did unnecessary surgeries in her surgery center. That hysterectomy and what else she did would destroy my life. Several surgeries trying to repair the damage. A horrible life of pain. My life is pain meds. I can’t even do things with my family. Get a second opinion before you allow any doctor do surgery. I was preparing to send… my daughter to her when she got older! No way!!!

I should have gotten second option before I allowed Dr. Mackovic to do surgery. I started out with one of her partners when I first started having pain. She said she couldn’t find anything wrong with me. Ended up with Dr. Mackovic who had been my longtime doctor. She did two surgeries and put something in my body that destroyed my life. Will live a horrible life now. A life of unbearable pain. Never telling me what the product was. I think she is to quick to do surgery. Watch out for your health!!!!

Dr. Mackovic did hysterectomy on me at the end of 2015, I have had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE. Horrible outpatient surgery at facility and I have had two other surgeries since to REPAIR what Dr.Mackovic did. Still recovering..definitely changed my life. Always do a second opinion!!

Dr. Mac tried to make me have utirus removal surgery only two weeks after surgery(Leep) because I have high risk of viruses while I was having some complications from Leep and still bleeding with lots of discomfort. I went to another doctor for the second opinion right away. I saw Dr. Mac 3 months later since Dr. Mac office called me to arrange the surgery. I requested that Dr. Mac see me for my question before surgery. Dr. Mac angrily and loudly said to me, "How many months since my recommendation? ......" Etc....that gave me distinct impression.

Wrong diagnosis and care. Led to continuous complications and affected permanent health

Dr. Mackovic is an excellent doctor! She is extremely knowledgeable, kind and personable. I have been with her for 12 years and she has delivered my children, administered exams and performed surgeries all with the utmost care and professionalism. I would highly recommend Dr. Mackovic.

Dr. Mac is amazing. She knows about treatments that others docs do not. She knows how to be comforting when you're worried. She is very kind. I was fortunate to find her at this time in my life when I needed a doctor who cares!
