Dr. Mitra Assadi-Khansari, MD

This doctor is terrible. I had a complex migraine with severe aura of entire left side numbness. I thought it could be a stoke so I went to the ED who referred me to Mitra. She ignored my hospital stay and only wanted to discuss headaches. I wanted to talk about the months long numbness. She then prescribed 4 different triptans which are contraindicated for complex migraine. She had no idea how to treat this nagging symptom. Plus she was condescending and rude. Almost yelling at me via video visit. Luckily I was able to transfer to another neurologist who has since then given me a tricyclic to deal with the long term left side body numbness and also Ulbrelvy as needed in place of a contra indicated triptan. Yes. I found someone to listen, treat me with respect and is now helping to find a solution for me. Not just throwing a traditional triptan at me and tell me to not to go to the ED again.

This “doctor” is very condescending and rude, and easily agitated by anything you do. I was adjusting my mask in order for safety and the transmission of Covid, but she was irritated by it and told me to take my mask off the entire time. Regardless of your opinions, this doctor has no compassion for the patients. Go somewhere else for neurology and stop wasting your time.

The worst. She was impatient and rude. If I didn’t answer her questions the way she wanted, she changed my answer, which lead to a misdiagnosis. The worst doctor’s appointment I’ve ever experienced. She did NOT listen AT ALL, and was pejorative and paternalistic. She also tried very hard to disprove a diagnosis I received many years ago, by a world renowned geneticist, and added this to my medical record. She prescribed medication that can make my eye condition worse, and didn’t bother to listen when I tried to interject. I gave up on attempting to say anything to her, and now have to write to patient relations to have her false statements removed from my medical records. Steer clear of this doctor.

She was very impatient. Anytime she asked a question and it was not the answer she wanted, she would respond very irritated. She was not very accommodating.

i have been a patient of dr assadi for several years now receiving botox injections for chronic headaches every 3 months. she is very knowledgeable and helpful and has an efficient and helpful nursing and administrative staff. she has helped me alot over the years.

dr assadi always returns calls placed to her after office hours or on weekends.

Saying she over medicates her patients is an understatement. I wouldn’t advise anyone to go to her unless you want a dr that doesn’t listen to a word you say and just wants to write a script to get you out off the office. I backtracked and lost years of my life because I was so medicated I was like a zombie and now coming off the medication I haven’t had a restful sleep in 6 months, I’m back on Xanax for panic attacks and was hospitalized for how badly my stomach was ripped up from the high milligrams she put me on even tho I told her I don’t think I need it nor do I want it.

dr assadi is very knowledgeable and goes out of her way to help her patients. her nursing and administrative staff are pleasant and very helpful.

I can not tell you how soon i want out. If it wasn't for the fact she is able and knows how to do Migraine botox I would not go to her. She is ride and could care less about you. Despite some impairments she rushes us when it is important I speak and try to follow even if an advocate comes with. You would not know I had any impairment but she does and should have a hear and give grace. Says she is migraine expert but then says she doesn't "do" vertigo and yet diagnotes as VESTIBULAR migraines. Hope for help and natural solutions or ideas. Only way she does that is send you out. :/

Dr. Assadi is phenomenal! I would recommend her in a heartbeat. My daughter suffers terribly with chronic migraines and Dr. Assadi has done her best to help her. She has a wonderful bedside manor and is terrific with my daughter; extremely gentle and patient. Couldn't ask for a better Doctor. Very caring.
