Dr. Monica S Borkar, MD

Absolutely horrendous! Zero Star if I could! The entire interaction with the Dr. Borkar and the procedure felt rushed, violating, dehumanizing and an abuse of power. I was referred to get a colonoscopy by my PCP and I just picked the earliest time available, unfortunately that time was with Dr. Borkar. I did not have any kind of consultation with her and met her the day of the procedure. She said “Hi” and that was it, didn’t introduce herself by name to me, In fact she barely looked at me before handing me a form to sign and left the room. When I had a problem with some things on the form, and the tech brought her back in the room, she was very dismissive and told me if I didn’t like somethings to cross them out and sign the form, but not to put the time and date, as she would do that later. Through the entire process of getting prepped for the procedure I was clearly upset, the techs and nurses were asking if I was okay. But not once did Dr. Borkar ask me, her patient, who she is… supposed to be caring for, who was clearly in a lot of destress, if I was okay. Once in the procedure room I was starting to have a panic attack. Dr. Borkar belittled me for “scribbling all over these consent forms” even though she told me to cross things out. she made me sign a new form, at best mid panic attack, at worst under the beginning stages of sedation. When I told her I just did what she told me to do with the form, she with a condescending smile, said to not worry, “I fixed it.” One of the last things I remember is crying out that I was terrified. I have no idea what happened in response to that. The next thing I remember is, during the procedure waking up and being in pain and a lot of pressure in my abdomen, I begged them to stop, I have no idea if they did. Next memory is being rushed out the door by a nurse/tech that I hadn’t seen before. From the time I got to the hospital, to the time I cried out, almost an hour later, the total time I had interacted with Dr. Borkar was a few minutes max. She explained nothing to me, never told me when any kind of sedation was administered, and showed no interest in my well-being. I have been losing sleep because this doctor. was so terrible. Ever time I close my eyes, I hear myself yelling “I’m terrified” and seeing Dr. Borkar condescending smile and hearing her say to not worry, “I fixed it.”

Doctor does not kisten and will prescribe medicines that contradict other medical conditions. Shows up to colonoscopy in hip hop clothes, leather pants and high top sneakers…never changed before or after colonoscopy and EGD. Was supposed to do an EGD and said she attempted but couldn’t do it. Still will charge insurance and never completed test. Did colonoscopy and never met afterwards or provide pics or results. Does not respond to messages online or by phone. Nurses are just as rude. They over sedated me during procedures. You are risking your life and putting your life in her hands. Her bed side manners are terrible. But worse is her lack of competence. Please think twice. There are better FIs out there, and this is not one of them!!

Zero Stars. For 6 weeks I had exacerbated symptoms and Dr. Borkar never returned my calls and emails. I was locked into an HMO and I couldn't seek care from another Dr. Had I found another Dr. within Northshore, the waiting time would have been months.Her treatment of me was unconsciousable and unethical. Please seek care elsewhere.

My appointment was cancelled twice! These people have no regard for your time. I do not recommend this place at all.

Dr. Monica Borkar is a excellent Doctor.I am glad she is my doctor.Monica is a caringdoctor who spends time with me and knows just what needs to be done (like test to bedone ex.I just want you to know that Dr.Borkar is the best Doctor and I would recomend her to anyone.Dr.Borkar is a caring doctor and knows what she is doing.

Dr. Borkar is very professional, thorough and has a great bedside manner. I had complete confidence in her and she resolved my problem.

It is so special to have a doctor who really cares about their patients and that so well describes Dr. Borkar.Like having a very good friend as a Doctor who really wants to hear from you when needed.Speaking for her patients we love Dr. Borkar are so thankful for her.
