Dr. Monte Eugene Fox, DO

I've seen Dr. Fox for 17 years, the first time for a skin check where he found basal cell carcinoma on my back. I've gone in every year or two since with the faith that he would keep on top of any future skin cancers. I always enjoyed his sense of humor and even his hummingbird speed between rooms, but he always stayed as long as I had questions so I didn't mind him zipping out again. The wait times and office staff sometimes left a lot to be desired, but Dr. Fox was worth it. Until recently. He told me that a crusty lump on my forehead was just a cyst that would return if he removed it. After he closed his local office, I decided not to follow him 45 mins away and went to someone else instead. That new doctor took a biopsy of the "cyst" and it came back as basal cell carcinoma. I just went through Mohs surgery to have it removed. So I can no longer recommend Dr. Fox anymore. I think it's time for him to retire and watch the hummingbirds.

He is very professional and makes me feel relaxed at my visits with him

Dr. Fox seems very rushed and could really care less what you have to say. I read a few of these reviews and I too was told to come back over the years for a second appointment. First appointment, I told him what the problem was. Second appointment was to fix the problem. I wonder if he really was (is) committing insurance fraud? The front desk staff typically seems to be in a bad mood every time I arrive. The whole atmosphere just gives negative vibes. I ended up finding a new dermatologist in Stow and I LOVE HIM. I regret not changing sooner.

Dr. Fox is the easiest dermatologist to get into because he is the terrible. He cared more about checking my moles than the actual issue I went there for. I tried to ask him questions and he was out the door in less than 5 minutes.

I was on the phone for 20 minutes only to find out I couldn't get in for 3 months. I am not a new patient either. I am getting bug bites, the exterminator could not figure out what was biting me, and wanted my dermatologist to figure it out to see if they should spray different chemicals this time. Thanks for all your caring...NOT.

Dr. Fox is very very rushed. He spends approximately 2-3 minutes in the exam room with the patients. He does not give you any time to discuss or question. The positive side is that if you appointment is at 2:00, you are seen by 2:05. I have been going there for years and never waited more than 5 minutes past my appointment time. He is just very rushed. I have been to a few of his offices, STAY AWAY from the Kent office. The patients have to wait in the hallway and they overbook that office. You will wait up to 30 minutes after your scheduled time to see him if you go to the Kent office.

Dr. Fox makes patients come in for two office visits to complete one procedure. He says that Medical mutual makes him do that, but that is not true. I have spoken with multiple reps from Medical Mutual and they do not force multiple visits. Med Mutual stated that maybe the doc wants multiple office visit charges. Advised to file fraud paperwork with Medical Mutual, I did. Never heard anything more from either side and I found another doctor to go to. Also, my last two visits with Dr. Fox were timed. (He knew I was timing him, I showed him.) Both visits were under three minutes in the room with me. He is RUSHED to get out of the exam room. Beware!

My entire family has seen Dr. Fox for years! When I say entire family, I mean all 37 of us! On top of that, we have referred friends and their families to Dr. Fox. I have not had one bad experience with his staff or him. I've never heard of anyone else having any issues with him either. Sometimes I feel that people post things on here because maybe they didn't get what they want...remember, he's the doctor. Anyhow, I would recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Fox's practice has you come back for treatment rather than giving you treatment at your initial appointment. I think this is so he can bill for "Office visits" twice. He will not skirt around the issue, he will tell you flat, you need to come back before I can help you. At his one office in Kent, patients have to wait in the hallway. It just doesn't seem to be a smoothly functional office. And he is possibly committing fraud by making patients come back a second time for treatment.
