Dr. Monte Lynn Slatton, MD

I have been Dr Slatton’s patient since 1997. I met him in the emergency room where in my opinion, he saved my life. Over the 22 years of our relationship he’s been in, I think, 3 different locations, each one offering more in-house services to better meet the needs of his patients. I am (retired now) a pilot, and every year after 1997 there were many FAA hoops through which I must jump to keep my medical to fly. Dr Slatton and his group always met my needs. Heart doctors are busy and I’m sure they prioritize their patients, i.e. Emergency Rooms come first. I understood this and tried to be an understanding, patient patient. I believe, “What goes around comes around”, so I was kind to and smiled for the nurses and staff. For that, I was too, treated kindly. Have I had a long wait for an appointment? Yes! But has Dr Slatton and staff always met my needs? Yes! I feel fortunate he was my ER Dr those 22 years ago and I would recommend him highly to anyone, and have, to some of my… family, including my mother and dad, who feel the same way about him!

I waited nearly 4 hours (an hour of that was in the cath lab, laying on a steel table and absolutely freezing to death) and then was told that he had an emergency. However they did not offer to reschedule nor apologize for the wait. All of the staff were cold and impersonal. Staff only spoke when they had to and no effort was made to be kind...in fact they were all borderline rude. I still need to have my angiogram done but I don't know if it will be with this group.

He is not friendly. He does not listen to the patient. He was my husband's doctor.

Dr Slatton is interested in getting an accurate diagnoses of his patients. He answered my and my sons questions about me. He told us he is going to be running a series of tests on me to help him make a better diagoses of what's wrong with me. He told me more in one visit than Dr Jaffar did in 4 visits.

I don't want a best friend in a Heart Doctor. He has been very good to me. He also saved my life when I had a heart attack. I will be forever thankful.

Told us that our father got a blood clot from Heart Cath and put him on blood thinners and then a week later on the follow up -Did not even bother to come discuss why my dad had a fistula. and not the clot they first said. We went to DALLAS for a second opinion and two weeks prior asked for his films to be sent. Upon arriving at Dallas (5.5 hours away) They had only sent them on Thursday and the dr had not gotten them yet. Sent a report stating father had no clot or fistula but vascular surgeon said he did. It has been one thing after another. Will not go back and will seek another dr.

Dr. Slatton has seen my mother for years. He is wonderful. He explains everything to her and has saved her life more than once. We are so blessed to have him in our lives.
