Dr. Muhammad Mujahid Salim

My insurance wanted to send me to a different pulmonologist. What a horrible experience. I did everything I could to get back to Dr. Salim. He listens to your concerns. Does everything quickly and efficiently in office if possible. Just amazing. If you are looking for someone, this is where to come!

Overall Dr. Salim seems to be a good doctor but his support staff is very unimpressive. After several weeks and many follow up calls, I am still waiting to receive the prescribed sleep mask. I am not sure if it is just that the office is too busy or understaffed or if the office staff just doesn't care enough to follow up or through on the orders...

I was sent to Dr. Salim by my primary doctor. My primary doctor believed I had Valley Fever. My first visit with Dr. Salim was intensive and he sent me for a chest x-ray and a cat-scan. I already had results from the last cat scan from my primary. He read this and believed also that I had valley fever. He continued my medicine for valley fever. He also did a bioscope which came back no cancer cells. He did no biopsies at this time. He still insisted I had valley fever but the medicine was not helping. He ordered a pet scan which I had on a Wednesday and the man said it would be at the doctors office by tomorrow morning. I gave the doctor Thursday, Friday and half a day on Monday to read the results. I called the office and talked to one of the office girls. I asked if my results were back yet and if the doctor has seen the results yet. She said they were back and he has read them. I asked if I need to come in early or wait for next months appointment. She told me if he… had seen anything bad or different he would of had us call you. So I said I should keep to my scheduled and she said yes. This is the second time she has lied to me. She told me once he was out of town so I couldn't talk to him. He told me himself he was there all day 8 to 5. Anyway I got to feeling really bad and was having a hard time catching my breath so I called the office and said I needed to see him. They got me right in. When Dr. Salim came in it was like he was seeing me for the first time, asked the same questions. My son was with me because I didn't have the strength to drive myself. My son said if I keep going I will be in the ER before this weekend. His remark was if I end up in the ER have them call my office. I asked him what was the results of my pet-scan and he gave me a funny look. I asked him for a copy and he got up to get it and we followed him to the front desk. I asked for a copy and they looked at the doctor and he said give it to me so they did. The first line of diagnosis was 30% fluid on the right lung. The second sentence started out Malignancy. I looked at my son and said lets go. The doctor had 5 work days to review my results and it was apparent he did not review the results. What was he waiting on. Probably my next months appointment then he would review it then. I got in to my primary doctor and he read the results and said I needed to go to the hospital asap. I went there and was admitted. Two days later they took a liter of fluid off my lung and the next day I was taken to surgery where they did extensive biopsies and put a drainage tube to drain the rest of the fluid. The results weren't back yet before I got to go home. I had an appointment with a cancer doctor who treated me in the hospital 10 days later. I asked him if he had any results yet and did he know what was wrong. He said yes I had cancer of the lung and it was stage 4. This doctor is very good and I trust him. His office staff and the oncology nurses have been marvelous. That's more then I can say for Dr. Salim and his office staff. When I was admitted to the hospital I said Dr. Salim was no longer my Doctor. I have a new pulmonary Doctor. I have a cancer doctor that is top notch. I can say I'm in good hands now.

I was a patient for several years. Often I felt rushed through the appointment. Many times I waited up to an hour or more past the appointmwnt time. Thus, I went elsewhere for my COPD , Sleep Apena and Restless Leg issues.

Wrong diagnosis, rude, dirty, smelly

He is an expert in diagnosing and treating valley fever. He took care of mine several years ago and I haven't had any problems since.

had me breathing within a few day after my hospital stay .some what slow with appointments but very complete with follow ups and Brenda will see to all of you prescriptions or equipment !.

Whatever you do, DO NOT GO HERE if you value a quality care experience. While Dr. Salim is kind and seems to know his stuff, his appointments are extremely rushed and disorganized. On one occasion, he had several medical students (I'm guessing?) in my appointment just observing, but did not ask if this was okay with me or even tell me who they were or why they were there. I was discussing very personal health-related issues, and it was frankly uncomfortable and embarrassing. Additionally, his office staff is brief bordering on rude, and EXTREMELY DISORGANIZED. Good luck trying to get an order for a test or your lab results, ever. I have left message after message without followup on enough occasions that I have decided to leave Dr. Salim's practice and find a new pulmonologist.

Dr. Salim saved my life. After getting to know him he is like family to me.

Did sleep study, Diagnosed Sleep Apnea with restless leg syndrome, got me setup with a CPAP and meds for my leg twitches and doing much better. Great doctor, caring and informative. When I lost my insurance his office gave me a complete patient history for future reference. Spends the needed time with his patients. I recommend this "Texas Cowboy" doctor to every one( he used to wear cowboy boots in the office, for the reals!).
