Dr. Nabil Noureddin, MD

Dr. Nabil Noureddin is an advanced endoscopist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He specializes in advanced and therapeutic endoscopy, with a particular focus on gastrointestinal oncology, pancreaticobiliary endoscopy, third-space endoscopy, and bariatric endoscopy. He takes a multidisciplinary approach, collaborating closely with experts in gastroenterology, surgery, oncology, radiology, and transplantation to develop personalized, minimally invasive treatment strategies for patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions.His clinical expertise encompasses advanced endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), as well as endoscopic removal of complex polyps, precancerous lesions, and early gastrointestinal cancers. He also performs peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) and related third-space procedures for gastrointestinal motility disorders, along with endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) for the …treatment of obesity. In addition, he treats gastrointestinal strictures, fistulas, leaks, postsurgical complications, and biliary complications in liver transplant recipients.Dr. Noureddin completed his fellowship in advanced endoscopy at Weill Cornell Medicine/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where he trained under internationally recognized experts in interventional endoscopy. He completed his gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at UC San Diego, where he received the Department of Medicine’s Top Fellow Award and later joined the clinical faculty. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, serving as Chief Resident, and earned his medical degree from the University of Aleppo. He is board-certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology.His academic interests center on improving clinical outcomes through technological advancement and procedural innovation. His work includes the evaluation and development of emerging endoscopic techniques and devices. He is also actively involved in medical education, teaching gastroenterology fellows and helping train the next generation of advanced endoscopists.
