Dr. Nahir Johanan Romero Estremera

Dr Romero was the surgeon on call in the ER at George Washington Hospital when my niece came in on a Saturday evening with her entire upper lip hanging on the side of her cheek after being attacked by a dog. Due to coronavirus, family members could not walk into the pre-op room, leaving my niece alone and terrified. Dr Romero is an ENT surgeon who was extremely gracious and kind and kept my niece company while on the phone with me answering a multitude of questions, as I cried my eyes out. Dr Romero assured me that she would take care of my niece as if she were her little sister. My niece was comfortable with her and so was I. Three hours later, my niece came out of surgery with her lip entirely reconstructed in an astonishing manner! I expressed to Dr Romero prior to surgery that I had reservations that she was an ENT surgeon and not a plastic surgeon, given the state in which my niece's lip was--literally hanging by a thread on the side of her cheek, while you could see the bones in… her mouth. Dr Romero reconstructed each inch of my niece's lip, aligning it in utter perfection, despite the swelling! I was absolutely astounded at what she was able to accomplish. First thing Monday, we went to, not one, but TWO of the most regarded plastic surgeons in the DMV and BOTH reiterated that Dr Romero had done an absolute spectacular job and that there was nothing for them to repair! BOTH plastic surgeons also said that they could not have done a better job! I have been looking for a contact for Dr Romero for nearly a month now and finally found this review page. I sincerely hope that she gets to read this because I have absolutely no words to express my gratitude to her for saving my niece's face and for her infinite kindness in ensuring that my niece felt secure and calm and answering all of my questions on the phone. Dr Romero, you should be a plastic surgeon! My niece and my entire family thank you from the bottom of our hearts for what you've done for my niece, the time you spent, and the superb job you've done!
