Dr. Naili Duan, MD

Horrible time management I've had my appointment rescheduled at least six times. I've gotten to the office waiting for my Botox injections for my migraines just to have Dr dwan's nurse walk in and say that the botox didn't arrive in that they would need to reschedule my appointment. I've had this happen three times. they should have called me on Thursday and told me that the botox did not arrive so I didn't have to waste my time money and gas driving 40 minutes to get to the office just to find out that the botox for my Friday appointment wasn't there. They never answer their phone. Awful awful experience

Went 4 times, all 4 times, she was 1 1/2 hours late!!! Can't understand what she is saying, she talks way to fast. Staff was more worried about eating their lunch instead of running the front desk. Will NOT go back there. Going to get another referral from my regular physician. I do NOT recommend going here at all!

Dr. Duan should not be a doctor! She is useless, ill-prepared, and showed up an hour and 1/2 late for our scheduled appointment. I finally found her in an empty exam room, working on her computer! Shame on her for calling herself a doctor. My husband had an EMG done by her and today we were supposed to get the results. Her conclusion: "Don't fall down". I am not kidding. Shame on her - what a crappy excuse for a doctor.

Unfortunately I had an appointment with Dr.Duan. If there was a less than 1 star I would have chosen that . This was not the first appointment with her but I did change to Dr. S in the same practice location. He has since left the practice. He was very good, 5 stars. So back to Dr. Duan for another ineffectual examiniation following a stroke. Again she barely looked at me and spent her time pounding the keys of the computer like she was angry, while throwing questions my way and if I took more that 2 seconds to respond she would ask again as if I hadn't heard her. My stroke has left me more confused and slow to process information, but given time I can get it. She then did what I would call the absolute worst physical exam. How many fingers? how many? how many? how many? as she went so quickly my head was spinning. Then on to the strength test, push, pull, push, pull done in less that 15 seconds but never really testing me, barely touching my limbs. Then as she pounded… the computer keys once more she became very impatient with me when I was struggling to give her an answer to a question of my history. What year? Now I am trying to recollect a history of my medical problems. What year? louder this time. 1 year? 2 year? What year? How long? I was so flustered by that time I didn't even know my name. She should look for a research job, and one where she looks into a microscope all day, without patient contact. It was the worst experience for me. I am definitely never going back to her. I am researching other neurologists, and luckily there are plenty to choose from. STAY AWAY from Dr. Duan.

It's interesting reading all these reviews that talk about "bedside manners" and her office staff with zero information about whether or not she helped them... you know... medically... I suggest if you want your hand held and to be pampered maybe go to the Ritz and get a Spa treatment. My experience with Dr. Duan and her staff has always been excellent.

During my first appointment, she bearly look at my face. She was in a rush, and I actually got a headache when talking to her. I felt pressure because she wanted that I answer her question right away.

I didn't notice speech impairment. She speaks clearly. However it was the speediest new patient appointment. 10min. max. She just types what you say into a computer. This is it. No examination of any kind. Sad state of affairs when doctors have become data entry robots. She is not the only one, the entire system now is data entry oriented, missing a patient completely. There are very few exceptions. Staff was courteous, but waiting time was excessive. Even after I was taken into a room, it took 40 min before she walked in.

I can't say enough about Dr Duan. All of my experience is very negative. Stay away from this Doctor, and if you are assigned her as part of the archaic method of assigning doctors that Naples Community Hospital and many hospitals have, ask for someone else. She does not listen well to say the least. She has a language impairment as she is educated in China and is very difficult to understand. Her reports to file are not accurate and close to false. Our first encounter with her was observing her complaining to staff about the time she wasted trying to find patients in the hospital. All staff was rolling their eyes at each other behind her back. There are inaccuracies in her reports and they introduced difficulty in obtaining disability status. The only reason I am taking the time to review her is with the hope that I can save some other poor soul with a brain injury the additional injury that will be caused by Duan's near incompetence and lack of attention to detail and writing an… accurate report of her consultations. Stay away, find someone else. By the way, her office staff is rude, and no one really cares about anything else but getting to the end of the day at around 4pm. This is a neurological fast food operation.

Very Competent

As mentioned by someone else on here, the office staff is unprofessional. Duan's practice actually has more than on doctor on site, and it's one of the few places where I've seen a high turn over rate for the doctors. I was a patient here for 2 years and saw 3 different doctors in that time because the others had left. It's an absurd office and I'm happy to move on.
