Nancy Jill Councelbaum, MD

I have tried to give her a chance, but I had horrible experiences. Multiple errors - not sending in authorizations for necessary testing (possible breast cancer), pre-op protocol not possible to work out with them (had to do pre-op tests again with another doc) desk person no empathy and not intelligent, left me waiting for hours until office closed, didn't get to see her. I actually took a picture of computer screen. - 3 hours behind schedule. Going to find someone else.

I have been seeing Dr Counselbaum for over 20 years. She is thorough, current on health issues, reviews your chart, asks good questions and spends time with each patient. Sometimes she runs late because she is with a patient. I prefer a doctor who takes the time and listens to her patients and she does! I would give her 10 stars!

Horrible

It’s so hard to set up an appointment. I left a few messages about my visit but never heard back from her. She doesn’t care my suffering. I would rate 0 if there is an option.

The wait time is long to be seen by her. She has no compassion and doesn’t return calls to give test results. When you complain she will note your file that your difficult!

Dr. Counselbaum spends a lot of time with every patient therefore she runs behind, but she is so nice, concerned with your care, listens and will pleasently discuss your treatment with you. A good doctor is hard to find, but worth the wait.

I am so disappointed in Dr. Councelbaum. I went in for an unnecessary office visit and had to sit in a sick area all because she wouldn't tell me anything over the phone. I have had painful cough with pain in ears and throat. Throat was not swollen or even red, she insisted on giving me a strep test, of course that came back negative. She told me there wasn't anything wrong, to just get some extra rest and sent me home without any RX. The next night I was so sick and painfully coughing I had no choice to go into an ER. Which was emotionally devastating because of the Covid-19 pandemic. I got diagnosed with bronchitis and was given steroids, and inhaler and cough medication and I am feeling so so much better. Shame on you Dr. Councelbaum for not caring enough about me and rushing me out of your office after I put myself in danger in the "sick area room" your front office put me in. Please find another HOAG doctor as this one doesn't seem to really believe her patients.

I told her I had to take two Tylenol and three Advil just to get through the pain! She gave me a strep test - negative ( as I already knew that wasn't the case). She just sent me home and told me to rest and I should feel better in the next couple of days, as I didn't need any RX. The next night I was in so much pain I had no choice but to go to the ER, which was so terrifying because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
