Dr. Nancy Tylim, PhD

I was recommended to talk to Dr. Nancy Tylim by a co-worker several years ago, back in 2008 or 2009. I was in a rough place at the time~ depressed and anxious, a little lost, a myriad of feelings and emotions that I was hoping for clarification on, or maybe a little comfort. I don't remember much of my time with Dr. Tylim, as it was short-lived, maybe a month or two, I can't remember. My co-worker found her beneficial, but in my experience Dr. Tylim was impatient with me and would invalidate the things I would say, which didn't feel great... an example was when I told her that a supplement I had just started taking had affected my body almost immediately, within 10 minutes or so... I remember that specific conversation because she said it was "impossible" for a supplement to affect you that quickly, and she grew impatient with me, not understanding or realizing that some people's bodies (as in my case) are ultra-sensitive to anything that you put in them. I think that was sort of the… beginning of the end for me, though it's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things for someone to not believe that could happen to you, it was indicative to me of someone who I entrusted with my vulnerabilities and my whole self, who when I expressed myself to her could easily turn and be dismissive, and that's not what I was looking for in a therapist. It is now almost 15 years later and I have a wonderful therapist who is kind, compassionate and understanding~ not dismissive in any way, and makes me feel that I'm heard. That is important to me, for all things big or small. I'm sorry it didn't work out with Dr. Tylim but I had to write this review because she was a person and that was a situation I never forgot.

Several years ago I was in a dark place but thanks to my family and her I me again. If you are reading this its because most likely you are in my prior shoes and looking for help. Congrats!, that is the first step to getting better. As for Dr. Tylim, she is AWESOME and I cant thank her enough for all her help.
