Dr. Nancy Blair Waring, PhD

I regret to say that I was very disappointed with this "career" counselor. Not only was it extremely expensive (two personality test and three face appointment) to have seen this counselor but utterly unfulfilling and empty. She based as to what I "should" focus on in my career SOLELY based on a Myers Brigg test and another personality test. Not once did I feel as though she cared to get to know me or what my passions were. She based everything on those tests alone. She never asked me in an interpersonal fashion anything of importance (or anything for that matter). I was referred to her by someone else. I would NOT recommend her for career counseling whatsoever. Her hours did not lend themselves to work around my schedule (and I was flexible). I paid well over $400 (and am unemployed) and she was not exactly completely direct as to all of the sessions we needed, not to mention what was expected. She did not help me in any way, shape or form. Perhaps she is better in other areas, but I… would highly suggest to those that oversee her as a "career" counselor to reconsider. I wasted so much time and money with her and she hardly seemed interested in me personally. I left with a heavy heart upon seeing her. I hope she reads this and understands that personality tests alone do not idictate as to what a person "should" pursue within a career. As a Christian counselor, she should honestly take stock as to where her own passions lie. She happily took what little money I had and had NO sincere interest as to who I am nor what I wish to become. She based everything on those stupid personality tests. She is a "nice" person but I felt very detached from her and dare I say, duped.
