Dr Jogenpally prescribed aggressive chemo. I left the office feeling very unconfident about this option. Not to mention the fact that he nor his nurse who rapidly ran through all the side effects of this chemo by whipping through about 20 sheets of paper, had any concern for my emotional well-being. I left the office not feeling like a person who had cancer, but for the first time since my dx, I felt like a CANCER patient. ONE Google search led me to research about the risk/benefits of chemo for my type of cancer. Thankfully, I was able to quickly schedule an appointment with Cleveland Clinic! Obviously, they were aware of this research, sent of for Oncotype test & my score was low! No chemo necessary!! ?? So, PLEASE always trust your gut & get that 2nd opinion.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer. Dr. Jogenpally was to remove the malignancy if possible. He explained there may be a possibility that the tumor could not be removed because of the location. After a short period he came out and said they did not continue after testing a lymph node which showed up positive. Afterwards, my parents, siblings and OUR CHILDREN AGES 7,9,and 10 were in my mother's room. Leaning against the door to the room he explained the lymph node and said there was nothing that could be done but to send her home and make her comfortable. He spoke to us like she wasn't even there. There was no comforting words - no words at all. He offered no additional options and no compassion. Just stood there - silent. I wanted more. I asked Dr. Jogenpally if chemo or radiation were options. With a shallow attitude and body language, he stated "Well, you could but it won't do any good". To make a long story short, I informed Dr. Jogenpally that we were a strong,… positive family and there was no room for him in my mother's wellness plan. The issue was not a doctor who found a problem. The issue was a doctor who gave up on his patient and provided nothing other than "just give up" advice. We found another oncologist. He was an absolute blessing for my family. He gave my family another four years together through treatment, a positive attitude, and a compassionate bedside manner. A physician's level of support and attitude can make or break a patient's willpower and determination. Choose the right one for you and your family.

Dr. Jogenpally treats cancer very aggressively and leaves no stone unturned. At first I had a problem because he speaks rapidly and softly, but once I asked him to speak up and slow down, he was fine. He answers questions thoroughly and has a wonderful caring staff.
