Dr. Natalie Christine Smith, PsyD

I have found Dr. Natalie Smith to be super helpful!!! Validating and full of insight. She has helped me to see my feelings in new ways, to honor and not judge them. She has helped me to build new tools to address and manage interpersonal conflicts and set boundaries. She also offered suggestions for reading and podcasts outside our sessions that were also immensely helpful. In terms of navigating health insurance paperwork, I found her to be very efficient. I would highly recommend her.

Wasted months being over charged and talked in circles but never really receiving any help just to slowly be more and more judged in till a strained session ended in being very rudely told that she couldn't help me anymore because my mom doesn't speak very good English and for some reason my translations weren't enough and she needed more information about my childhood that I couldnt provide? Found a thearapist who can speak spanish only for her to demand a very uncomfortable in person explanation as to why I would not be scheduling another appointment with her, which was weird since she was the one who told me to find another therapist. New therapist finds out that she was lying to me and my mom about how my school couldn't find any accommodations for me, at this point I was failing school and very mentally ill. They actaully wouldn't help me because she was telling them that I was lying the whole time and just trying to get out of school. Those were some of the worst years of my life… and she told them I was faking it.

Read her reviews on Vitals.com and any where else. She kept going on about payment method because I used Anthem Healthkeepers which is an extension of Virginia Medicaid. She made me feel judged for even using Medicaid and even after telling her that I’ve been experiencing a hard time with housing she looked at me in the face and said that I would be responsible for it if it doesn’t go through. Something she didn’t have to tell me I already know this. It’s the way she said it. She wouldn’t even let me finish my story before she added her own comment to it. And I couldn’t recognize when she would talk to me I would talk back with a suppressed tone cause I was actually afraid to trust her cause of her mannerism. She kept suggesting I’m crazy and I should go on meds when I was clear to her I hated it and want to exhaust everything else before trying it. Let it GO. Let the payment go let the meds go. I made it clear. It was obvious this wasn’t gonna work so I just walked out after 20… minutes. She just criticized me about how it’s not gonna work “when you go see multiple therapists and “pop in when I want to” until I find someone that says what I want to hear”. Wait what? Isn’t that what finding a therapist is? Finding someone you feel connected with. I’m not doing any of the sh!t she’s suggesting. Fck she makes me feel crazy what a b.

Seriously just seems like she’s there to collect payment. Little to no assistance provided. Made me feel judged in the one place you shouldn’t.

Cares more about money than her patients. Don’t waste your time or money by going to her.

Serious unexamined personal mental health issues taken out on patients, particularly with food/drink.
